Show Country Club. Mrs. It. J. Glendenning is the hostess at the Country Club today. There will be a tennis tournament tourna-ment at 4 o'clock. Table d'llote dinner at 0:30. Next Wednesday is visitors' day at the Country Siub. Mrs. Clement and Mrs. McClure will receive. A dancing party in honor of Miss Cist of Cincin-natti, Cincin-natti, was a smart affair of the week given by Dr. and Mrs. Ilcnry La Motto. The evening was perfect per-fect and after the dances the porch was a cosy rendevous. It was the first of the summer dances. The musicale given by Dr. and Mrs. Jack Keith on Tuesday evening in honor of Mrs. Tom Blythe was most enjoyable. The musicale guessing game was a decided novelty, and besides the hostess, Mr. Coffin, Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Copley and Mr. Hampton sang beautifully. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkes and Mrs. Styer entertained enter-tained at another delightful affair on Wednesday evening. V -Dr. and Mrs. llosmer entertained at a euchre party Tuesday evening. In the afternoon Mrs. llosmer llos-mer gave a large "03" party. N Mrs. . F. James entertained at a card party Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Benson entertained on Monday Mon-day in honor of Mrs. R. II. Hampton and Mrs. Kanters. Kan-ters. The woman's club movement has not reached the degree of development in other countries that it has in this, yet some of the finest women's clubs in the world are located in London, Paris and Berlin, according ac-cording to the July Delineator, which has a description des-cription of some of the best clubs in England and on the Continent, including the Pioneer, the Grovesnor, the Somerville and the Society of American Women in London; the last, however, is the only one which has joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The Ililsverein, of Berlin, is affiliated with the Federation and is accomplishing a great work, and 15,000 women are enrolled under its banners. |
