Show Hff !j THE LOGAN COLLEGE. ijl ! Nofc many people, even in Utah, appreciate fj! f J how great an. institution of learning the Agricul- Hjglfl tural College at Logan, is. It comes nearer start- jfjp fj ing a boy or girl out fairly to engage in the prac- HH . tical work of the world than any other institu- B tion in the State. A good education in the sci- Bfl I ences is secured, the rudiments of mechanical arts HH i1! are acquired, the practical and scientific require- HB J meats of the modern farmer are impressed upon ! the mind by study, by physical labor, and by some beautiful object lessons. I The new structures are nearly completed, making decidedly the- most imposing edifices any- jj where in the State, devoted to educational pur- hh j poses. aHj: I Compared with them the buildings of the B J J ' States University are a reproach. Bj j i There is vastly more architectural taste and lnliL' beauty displayed in one barn at Logan than in Rwt' tne entire cluster of University buildings. 391 HI: 'rne sito of no Lan college is superb. It is BBbmIJ n. an eminence from which the eye can take in ffinKflrc all Cache Valley, which, especially at this season, folBHi is most beautiful. In the rear of the buildings the great Wasatch range, as here, lifts up its snowy crest to the clouds. The struggle is to make the school one of the foremost of schools and experimental stations. The best test of any school is the opinion of the students. Those at Logan are enthusiastic over their school and surroundings. It is a first-class place to send a young man or miss to secure for him or her a scientific and at the same time, a practical and immediately available education. |
