Grand Selection from "El Capitan" Sousa H "The Devil's Auction" will be seen for the Hj twenty-second time at the Salt Lake theatre Mon- H day evening to a house that will be packed from H the orchestra to the iron railings on the top bal- H cony, and it will appear next year to the same H kind of a house, and every year thereafter as B long as theatres exist, and bill boards stand. "The K Devil's Auction" Is older than history and no mat- H ter what lots of us may think about it, there are B always others who will crowd to see this maverick B of stageland. K O O to B The tour of that ambitious actress, Blanche B Walsh in "Resurrection." includes this city in the B routing, and Miss Walsh will be seen at the Salt B Lale theater, week after next. "Resurrection" is B rather a dramatic sensation, which will open up B a new line of thought to local critics. E fc fc?v 5 B A rare musical treat will be that given at the Central Christian church next Friday evening, by B the choir of that institution under the able leader- B ship of Mrs. John W. Christy and J. A. Sanborn. B The event of the evening will be the rendition of B Gaul's sacred cantata "The Holy City," and the B choir will be assisted in the solo work by such B well known singers as Miss Nell PInkerton, Miss B Hope Mclntyre, Miss Edna Dwyer and Mr. Philips. The orchestra organized by the Salt Lake Conservatory Con-servatory of Music under the leadership of Dr. A. Brodbeck, is becoming a highly successful organization organi-zation with good signs of permanancy. The orchestra or-chestra is composed of students and advanced amateurs, and a few more members will be admitted ad-mitted free of charge in order to make the organization organ-ization more effective. tv V tv Hold's band concert at the Grand last Sunday evening was another gratifying success, with just enough fine music and rag-time alternating, to suit all tastes. The Imperial quartette, the feature of the evening, met with the approval of the large audience. |
