Show I Mining JVfotej, Everything now looks well for the Custer Min- mg company's properties undergoing some vigor-I vigor-I ous development, since the passing of the control of the holdings to W. Mont Ferry and M. H. Walker. The deal by which the control was obtained ob-tained involved the procuring of 450,000 shares of the stock. The properties occupy the space between be-tween the ore bodies of the Bingham Con. and the United States Mining company's holdings, and un- less all Indications fail the Custer will be a big wealth producer in the near future. In order to tap the ledges in the surrounding properties at a depth of 600 feet, a tunnel is being driven into the zone to a depth of 1,100 feet. The new management are confident that the property will prove immensely im-mensely productive. & & & Manager Chipman of the Uncle Sam has dispelled dis-pelled the idea that a jigging plant would be utilized util-ized at the Tintic property by stating that the -company would put up a mill at a cost of from $10,000 to $15,000. The concentrator wil' be one which can give the ores proper treatment, and work on the mill, the management state, will be commenced in the very near future. The syndicate which negotiated for the purchase pur-chase of the Sevier mines on Gold Mountain have shown that they have no intention of forfeiting their original payment of $20,000 on the purchase price of $100,000 by depositing a third payment of $10,000 during the week. This property, which was very productive while owned by Mr. Lam-mersdorf, Lam-mersdorf, will probably yield an immense amount of wealth to the new management, who are preparing pre-paring to equip the property with a new mill and all tho other equipment needed for active work on the property. ; i vj & A recent strike of importance was made in the piopeity of the Steele Consolidated company at I Park City. Judge Sommers, one of the directors of the company, visited the property upon learning of the strike, and while no assays have as" yet been made, he was very much gratified with the showing. The vein was uncovered on the lower tunnel and averaged about a foot in width. The values are chiefly in gold, although considerable iron is shown. The strike was made in one of the feeders to the main body. c tv 5 The Daly-West will be forward next week with the never failing dividend. At the rate of GO cents this will mean a total payment to the shareholders share-holders of $108,000. This payment, with the previous previ-ous ones, will make a total distribution of Daly-West Daly-West wealth since the beginning of the year of $864,000. fcyV 5 tV William McDermitt of the San Pedro recently returned from a trip into the southern country, where he looked into the feaibility of extending the company's rails to several rich mining properties, prop-erties, including the Majestic and the Newhouse mines in Beaver county. He was non-committal, however, in regard to what his probable recommendations recom-mendations to the company would be in relation to the contemplated extensions. |
