Show The Home Telephone Company has embodied in its franchise rates of ?48 and ?30 per annum, respectively, for business and residence instruments, instru-ments, on the face of positive statements made by independent telephone men who have had some years' experience in the business, that they are bound to lose money, and that new propositions of this kind fail to profit by the experience of others, and proceed upon the theoretical idea that there is money in the telephone business at any kind of rates. This is perhaps not the City Council's business, busi-ness, but it raises the question as to what the people peo-ple who have the franchise are going to do with it. |
