Show I Hidsorv's Market Letter. H Salt Lake, July 3. Business for the past week H has been light and with the exception of Daly- H West, at last week's prices. H Shipments from the Tintic district for June H amounted to 217 carloads of ore, 17 cars of con- H centrates and 4 bars of bullion; this shows a de- H crease from the May shipments. The following are the shipments for the month B from the various mines: Ajax, 5 cars;; Bullion H 3eck, 15; Carisa, 19; Dragon Iron mine, 33; Eagle H & Blue Bell, 2; Gemini, 39; Grand Central, 1; I Lower Mammoth, 6; Mammoth, 28; May Day, 2; I Sioux Utah (lease), 4; South Swansea, 24; Star con, 4; Undine, 2; Victor, 2; Yankee Con., 32; A. I T. Simmons, 1. Concentrates: Mammoth mill, 4 j carloads; May Day Jigs, 9; Tesora mill (Alaska H ore), 5; the Mammoth mill also shipped 4 bars of H bullion. H Ajax was traded in at from 2330 l-2c, closing with a bid of 29 l-4c, offered at 30 l-2c. H Carisa, although reporting with good shipments, H declined and is weak at 25c, closing at 24 l-4c bid, K offered at 24 7-8e. H Mr. G. H. Dern, manager of the Con. Mercur, H leaves for Jersey City to attend the annual meet- H ing to be held July 7th. He will be unable to H make a complete report of the mine's workings for H the mbnth of June, on account of the extra work H caused by the fire in the town of Mercur. H The output for the month of Juno is lighter H than the preceeding month, owing to the demor- B alisation of the working force during the fire. H However, Supt. Edwards reports everything is ro- H covering its normal condition at the property. H An expert who examined the property last week H reports development work being pushed upon the H new channel of ore and it is estimated that this n now body alone is worth $1,000,000 to the property. IB The stock has been very firm at from $1.982.00, H closing with $1.98 3-4 bid, offered at $1.99 3-4. H Heavy buying orders on Daly-West advanced it H from $48 to $49.25. These orders come from in- H side holders and would seem to verify the rumor H of the increase in dividends. The stock sold for Hj $50 this mornirig. H Lower Mammoth, although making fair ship- H ments for the month, suffered a decline of 5 cents, H and closed with 91c bid, offered at $1.02. H Mammoth closed with $1.25 bid, $1.25 1-2 asked. H 1300 shares changing hands at from $1.221.25. H May Day closed with a bid of 18 l-2c, stock of- H fered at 20c, and was very weak at these prices, H no new reports coming from the mine. H Sacramento closed with a bid of 27 l-8c, offered H at 27 3-4c, and is very strong at these prices, sell- H ing as high as 28c. B Sunshine closed with a bid of 241-4c, offered H at 25c, a small amount of stock selling at 25 l-4c. H Manager Moore, of this property, received a settle- H ment for the first half of June, while the mill was H running on 120 tons of crude ore per day, amount- H ing to $5000. The last half of the month the mill H was handling 130 tons per day and the number of f tons is to be increased gradually. The estimated H earnings are $12,000 per month. H South Swansea closed at 311-2c bid, no stock H offered, a few sales being recorded at 32c. The H mine made very good shipments in June. J Uncle Sam was considerably weaker, selling as H low as 27c. At the present writing there are no new reports from the mine. H The Utah, of Fish Springs, distributed a dividen'd B of 2c per share among the stockholders on July H 1st. This mine has made a very good showing con- H steering that it is so far from a railroad and every H Pound of ore has to be hauled ninety miles. The property has been opened up to a depth of 800 feet and the owners are pleased with the developments. The closing quotations were 48c bid, offered at 52c. Ingot changed hands at 4 3-4c, closing with 4 l-4c bid and 5c asked. California has been very strong at from 12 3-4c to 14c, closing with 13c bid, offered at 13 l-4c. Yankee Con. has made an excellent showing for June in the large number of cars shipped. We learn from a heavy holder that the property is showing up well, having exposed some fine ore bodies. The closing quotations wore $1.13 1-2 bid, $1.14 1-2 asked. The exchange will close on the Fourth of July and remain closed until Monday, July 7th. We will be pleased to answer any inquiries regarding re-garding any of our mines and stocks. Yours very truly, HUDSON SONS CO. |
