Much dissatisfaction is being expressed, by business men of the town at the unsettled state of affairs, existing from the recent selection of a new governing board, on the stoclc exchange. It is to be hoped that the retiring members of the old bo.n-d will not allow this feeling to be carried to su'h an extent, that it will, in any way interfere with the business of the exchange, or mar the confidence its patrons have so long shown it. At this time the combined effort of all its members mem-bers means much toward the future of Utah's mining interests and we sincerely nope tnat nar-mony nar-mony will be restored without delay. i t Eureka camp made a very good showing during dur-ing the month of January and development work is being pushed with greater vigor than for some time. The Little Chief reports a good grade of silver-lead ore, that carries $2.50 in gold opened up on their 800 foot level. & t The Tetro is about ready to make regular shipments, ship-ments, from which they expect to pay current expenses. & About two hundred tons a day is coming over the Grand Central's new tram, nto a little of which is high grade. & & I Twenty shippers at Eureka shipped 669 cars of ore during the month of January. tw tw Mr. Charles E. Knox, managrc of tho Philadcl-phia-Tonopah, left this week for his home in Philadelphia. Phil-adelphia. He brought with him from the mine some very nice samples, showing ruDy and horn silver, some of them running in values as high as 1,200 to the ton. i2fi tc& & Along with the consolidation of the Yampa and Highland Boy Con. comes the news of their intention to obsorb the control of the Copper Belt railroad. This will greatly facilitate the handling of ores ofrm their property and will add considerably to the daily tonnage or Bingham canyon. O At the annual meeting of the Grand Gulch Mining company the following directors ;were elected: J. A. Jennings, Frank Snow, Henry Din-woodey, Din-woodey, W. C. Jennings,, W. P. Jennings, Heber M. Wells and James E. Jennings. Reports of the company show an earning of ?4,000 for last year, which amount has been applied to the further development de-velopment of the property. J J c5 B John Brook, superintendent of the California mill, says that the plant is doing nicely and turning out twice as many concentrates each shift as heretofore. w Jv t.5 Messrs. A. J. Davis and A. J. Oren returned Monday from a trip to Silver City, Ida., where thty have been making arrangements for the development de-velopment of the Trade Dollar Extension, adjoin-in? adjoin-in? the renowned Trade Dollar.
