The forecast this week is for the nomination of Mr. Cleveland; not so much from anything that has been done, as from the tone of the press of the east, whose mission is to guard the great banking and financial combinations of the eastern east-ern cities. They describe what the Ideal candidate candi-date would be, and when they get through their editorials are really only developed negatives of snap shots of Grover. It looks now as though the contest this year is to be between the man who made the memorial address at Gettysburg this year, and the other man, who when President, spent his memorial days in fishing around Hog Island. |
