Armstrong was born in Detroit and came to southern Utah to visit a friend in Beaver back in 1979 and fell in love with the area. He began his postal service as a clerk in Milford in 1983 and after just a couple of years transferred to a number of post office positions in Salt Lake City. In 1993 he was offered the , postmaster position in Panguitch and quickly jumped at that opportunity as well. He has found his career satisfying and has truly enjoyed the local folks he has come to know. The past few years Armstrong has actually been away teaching and training other supervisors for up to 2-3 weeks at a time, traveling all over the country. He just returned from the national training train-ing center in Norman, Okla. He has enjoyed his main two hobbies, hiking and skiing, easy to accomplish in this area and he plans to continue both. All the Armstrong children continue to live and work in Utah, so family visits are on the agenda as well as extended periods of travel. |
