Show By Marlene Haws 826-4859 marlenehcolor-country.net Tom and Marilyn Jackson, their son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Shauna Jackson and their 3-year-old daughterRozena (Rose) of Magna were all here for the weekend. They went to Blue Spruce for lunch one day and ran into Cris and Tammy Christensen, her daughter Ashley and her fiance there. After lunch they went on over to the new bridge at Hell's Backbone before returning home. Doyle and Myron Cottam just returned from Green River with a load of watermelon. They said there had really been a hard storm over there and they were not able to get into the fields they usually get the melons from, but they sure are good anyway. I think that is one of Doyle's favorite annual trips! Friends, grandparents and other relatives went to St. George on Sept. 5 for the farewell testimonial of Collin Liston. Collin is the son of Dal and Lori Liston, the grandson of Robert and Louise Liston and Joyce and Clem Griffin. Collin will be going to the LDS Orlando, Fla., Mission. Cameron Alvey, son of Johnny ana) Stacey Alvey and Michelle and Barry Peterson, all of Palmdale, Calif., will also be leaving on an LDS mission soon. And (would you believe it?) he will also be going to Orlando, Fla. Johnny and Dal were in the same class in school while growing up in Escalante Collin and Cameron have been friends, played basketball together etc. Now they went into the mission home the same, , day, will both be leaving on tr)e I same day to go to the same mission mis-sion in Florida! What are the odds of that happening? Grandparents of Cameron are Betty and the late Smith Alvey and Sherree Roundy and the late Lael Spencer, also Jerry Roundy. Johnny Alvey and his two sons, Cameron and Carson, visited vis-ited here with Betty Alvey for four days before taking Cameron to enter the mission home. They had a good visit and enjoyed some fishing, etc. here then took Betty and went north to visit with Johnny's sisters, sis-ters, Irene Tait and Linda Stokes and families. Klyn and Marlene Haws had a surprise visit-from one of Klyn's army buddies on their wedding anniversary Aug. 29. They hadn't seen him for 52 years! He is Leland Thompson, formerly of Scipio, now Midvale. He brought his wife Dora Mae, whom the Hawses had never met, and they soon became acquainted and had a very nice visit and did a lot of reminiscing. Klyn and Leland were ' stationed at Port Townsend, Wash., and Marlene also lived there for a year. Vernon Spencer has gone on an escapade. His daughter Camille Shakespear took him to Kingston where his other daughter daugh-ter Annalee Knudsen, met them and took him to Mayfield. His sister-in-law Randa Wells took him to Provo and he wasn't quite sure how he was going to get to Logan from there. But I'll bet he figured something out because there was a big dance being held up there and he sure wanted to go! We may have to go hunt him up to get him back , home! |
