Show I Mwumu mm By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearhoe yalioo.com ." The big news this week is the .Garfield County Fair and the big news from the fair is that I tamed five blue ribbons and 1 'red on my six entries of potatoes, pota-toes, peas, string beans (black 'wax). Swiss chard and tomatoes. (My main reason for entering these w as lo let folks know we can raise something besides .'good kids in Panguitch.) I have 'com "as high as an elephants eye", but no silk showing. My dad used to say, "You never try 'to out guess the weather. You plant expecting to get com on ihe cob but sometimes you just gel cow feed." I'm afraid this is one of the years I just get cow feed. Kelly and Cherie Wood accompanied Cherie' s parents, Art and Beverly Crosby, to Eagar, Ariz., last Friday, Aug. 13, to attend the wedding of their granddaughter Cassandra Ping, daughter of Ed and Kathy (Crosby) Ping. All of Kathy' s and Ed's children have now "left flie nest". The wedding Ceremony Ceremo-ny was held in the Eagar LDS .Chapel and was conducted by -their Bishop, Scott Hall. Bishop THall is a gcxxl friend of the Evan "feoshell family who lived in ;t:agar before moving to I'anguitch. The trip required Cv o cars so Cherie drove Art and Beverly in their car while Kelly -brought the children in his car. Beverly said it was a beautiful wedding ceremony and everyone every-one had a wonderful time visiting visit-ing with the rest of Kathy and l id's family. The Panguitch LDS 4th Ward held a ward party at the new Panguitch Lake Branch Chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 18. For a pot-luck dinner, the variety of food was surprising, It almost rivaled a Chuck-A-Rama or a Golden Corral buffet. The party was well attended (considering all that was going on back in town) and there was plenty of food. Entertainment was furnished fur-nished by one of Kathy Peterson's twin sons (I'm not sure winch one) who played his guitar and sang. I was surprised at the number of LDS church members who live in the Panguitch Lake area during the summer months. Marie Memmott emailed me that her husband Merrill Gyvvnii Memmott died July 7 in the Red Cliffs Regional Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center in St. George. Funeral services were in the Southern LI tali Mortuary in Cedar City July 13. He was buried in the Scipio, Millard County Cemetery. Marie is now living in the Horizons West Retirement Village in Washington, Utah, close to family fam-ily and friends. Marie and Merrill had been living in Quartzsite; Ariz., from January 2002 until Merrill became ill and was taken to Dixie Regional Medical center in February. Camille Moore asked me to let those who missed the Commissioners dinner and die T-Five concert Friday evening (only $5 for both) that they missed an excellent meal and a very enjoyable concert. I agree with her completely. I am quite choosy w hen it comes to music I like and Evalyn had to twist my ami a little to get me to go (not to eat, just the 'concert), but I will have to say I really enjoyed it even to the audience participating partici-pating Conga Line near the end of the program. (My youngest daughter, Deanna, joined it not at all acting like a mother of six children) "The cannibals look Just one view And said he looks -Too nice lo stew. " Burma Shave. |
