Show Tra W.T ittlfmlH ,m m www TROPIC Ira W. Littlefield, 84, of Tropic, passed away June 10, 2000, in Panguitch. He was bom Octo. 5, 1915, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Edwin and Frances Willis Littlefield. He married Agnes J. Ott, June 20, 1935, in Henrieville. The marriage mar-riage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 28, 1939. Ira was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Sunday School President three times, served in the bishopric, and on the High Council. He also worked in the St. George LDS Temple with his wife as ordinance workers Ira was raised and educated in San Bernardino. He served an apprenticeship ap-prenticeship on the Santa Fe Railroad Rail-road as a steam fitter. He moved to Tropic in 1945 and taught shop, math and coached basketball at Tropic High School for one year. He worked the rest of his working years in the Panguitch sawmill, retiring re-tiring to enjoy his yard and gardens. Ira especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He dearly loved his family and worried about them everyday of his life. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Ag-nes of Tropic; children, Rose Marie (McKay) Bailey, Escalante; Marion (Catherine) Littlefield, Tropic; Linda (Robert) Gates, Granada Hills, Calif.; Edwin J. (Nancy) Littlefield, Lit-tlefield, Henrieville; 15 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; 34 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents; par-ents; daughter and son-in-law , Helen (James T.) Beatty, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Scott Barton officiating. The family prayer was offered by Ron Harris, a grandson and prelude prel-ude and postlude music was played by Karen Ott. The invocation was offered by Hal Marquardson, a grandson-in-law. Tributes were given by Linda Gates, a daughter and Edwin J. Littlefield, Lit-tlefield, a son. Sons, grandsons and great-grandsons sang "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Gwen Brinkerhoff. Tributes were also given by Thomas Beatty, a grand- V x . ; ; ; ! ' Ira W. Littlefield son and Mitchell Littlefield, a grandson. Daughter , granddaughters, granddaugh-ters, and great granddaughters sang "Families Can Be Together Forever," For-ever," accompanied by Gwen Brinkerhoff. Brink-erhoff. Remarks were made by Bishop Scott Barton and the congregation sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again," accompanied by Karen Ott and directed ' by Rose Marie Bailey. The benediction was offered by Mark Salerno, a grandson. Pallbearers were grandsons Mark Salerno, Thomas Beatty, Brian Beatty, Eric Grindler, Austin Littlefield, Little-field, Mitchell Littlefield, Ronald Harris and Ted Hurst. Honorary pallbearers were sons-in-law McKay Bailey and Robert Gates; grandsons-in-law Hal Marquardson, Mar-quardson, Wally Orton, and Brett Chynoweth; great-grandsons Brett Beatty, Jacob Beatty, Elder Andrew Goble (serving in the Lansing Michigan mission), Alex Goble, Steven Littlefield, Zackary Chynoweth, Trajan Littlefield, Kasen Harris, Trevan Harris, Dawson Hurst, Taran Hurst and Kaden Hall. Interment was at the Georgetown George-town Cemetery and the dedication of the grave was offered by Marion W. Littlefield, a son.
