Show u tropic .McytATS - By Lynn Munson 679-8627 There were so many out-of-town visitors in Tropic over the Memorial Memo-rial Day weekend. Some to visit the cemetery (it looks beautiful), some for graduation or class reunions reun-ions and some just enjoying the holiday. Speakers in Tropic LDS ward sacrament meeting May 28 were Tony Patterson, a newly returned missionary and high councilman Jerry Roundy. Alicia Dansie sang a beautiful solo. Hayes Mecham, son of Clint and Lori Mecham was ordained a deacon; Alan Wyatt Shakespear, son of Kelly and Pat Shakeapear was also ordained a deacon. dea-con. New members of the ward are Michael and Dixie Burbidge and Charles Lloys Mortenson. Reed and Nakole Cross of Or-derville Or-derville celebrated their 20th wedding wed-ding anniversary by getting married in the St. George LDS Temple. Nakole' s proud parents, Floyd and Alaska Richards, were very happy to attend the temple with them. Ira Littlefield is in the Garfield Memorial Care Center and is improving, im-proving, but will be there a while longer before he returns home. He would love to have more visitors. LaMar and Cheri Feltner were visted last Sunday by Trent and Leslie Feltner of Cedar City and children Sydney, Britton and new baby daughter Page. Here for the graduation of their sister, Yolanda Pollock, were Trevor and wife Jolynn Pollock and daughter Callie and Shawn Pollock and his daughter Shawnee. They all stayed with parents David and Kath-ryn Kath-ryn Pollock and visited with their many relatives, including grandparents grandpar-ents Larvin and Eva Pollock. Dean and Erma Wintch had 24 of their family members at their cabin on the East Fork. Son Dennis Den-nis Wintches wife Sharon has been named stake LDS Relief Society president. They live in Elk Ridge. Don and Valerie Grimmer and Steve and Verjean Clark had their grandchild grand-child blessed in the Cannonville LDS ward. Parents are Cary and Cynthia Clark. Dale and Olene LeFevre of Washington spent the weekend with LaMar and Cheri Feltner. They attended at-tended Olene's class reunion of 1955 and had lots of family to visit with, all of the LeFevre family and the Pollock brothers and family here in Tropic. Some of the Jolley family met for the class reunion also. Visiting here were Clarence Jolley, Afton and Dale Peterson of California; Evan and Janine Jolley, Cedar City and Ron and Sue Millet of Sandy. Steve and Barbara Duke of St. George brought Barbara's father, Alston Shakespear, to visit the cemetery and many of his friends here. Stopping for a short visit with Si Munson and Alan Munson were Dahl and Elaine Brown and their daughter Jennifer of Aurora. They will have a James and Larene Munson Mun-son family reunion here on June 16 and 17. Grant and Darlene LeFevre of Bountiful spent the weekend with parents Adrian and Glenna Pollock. Daughter Hazel Sanders of Fredonia also spent a day here. Rella Alvey and family were visited by her children Kenneth and Ida Alvey of Las Vegas and Afton Brande of North Salt Lake. It cheers Rella up when her family are here. Gloria Hayden had several family fam-ily members visit. Darr and Helen Smith of St. George spent several nights with Gloria and Anna Marie Johnson. Gloria's friend from Reno, Florence Cononic, her son and wife and two children of California Cali-fornia spent time visiting Ko-dachrome Ko-dachrome Park and Bryce Canyon. A sister, Marilyn Christiansen and her friend were also here and sister Ada and husband George Thompson stopped for a visit before returning home. Bob and Randi Ott all had children chil-dren home. Benton and Judy Ott and Jeff and Heidi Monson, all of Logan were here helping their parents. par-ents. Bob and Randi went to Logan to see both Benton and Heidi graduate gradu-ate "cum laude" from Utah State University. Nell Wilson spent several days visiting friends and family. Nell stayed one night with Clay and Rebecca Re-becca Wagstaff and family and one night with Dixie Shakespear. Nell and Dixie attended a family dinner with Matt and Virginia Wetzel and also watched a dance revue given by Yelta Harmon, her boys and young women of the Henrieville LDS Ward. Dixie later had friends Frank and Eva Hotz park their trailer on her lot for three days. Jessica Castor of St. George was here with grandparents Clive and Thelma Bybee. They spent the weekend with about 50 family members at the Bybee cabin at Fish Lake. Janet Pollock and daughter Jackie Blais of Panguitch spent several days in Cambridge, Ida where Jackie's son Josh lives. Jackie also taught deaf students in grade school when she lived there and returned to watch a very special student of hers graduate from high school. It was a wonderful day for all. - Malen and Marian Mecham were visited recently by some of their grandchildren; son Donald Shakespear's son, Lyle and wife, Camille were overnight guests, as was son Val Shakespear's daughters, daugh-ters, Bethany and Tiffany. Great granddaughter, Robin Miller of Henderson, Nev., daughter of Debbie Deb-bie Mecham Miller was also here. Gail and Bonnie Miles and Ella Adair met with the families of Loren and Elba Miles at the park in Cedar City for their annual breakfast. break-fast. There were about 35 family members of Gail's brother and three sisters there. Richard and Judy Clarke of Riverton and Ivan and Lory Clarke and three children of Salem all spent some special time with parents par-ents the Lester and Vertis Clarkes and other family members. Shirley Haycock went with Kay and Leland Deuel of St. George to Moab to attend the wedding of Justin Haycock and Allison Godfrey. God-frey.
