Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the family gathered at Pine Lake for their yearly get-together. get-together. Son Lynn and wife Keren from Las Vegas were in charge. Les and Dela Clark and Stacey, Susan and Dr. Jon Moody assisted. Everyone was pleased that Dr. Julie Moody was able to come from Nebraska where she has been attending school. She is currently establishing a dental practice ' in St. George. Julie attended school in Panguitch and enjoys coming back to Garfield county. The Moody family is in the early stages of planning next years cook-out. Family members are already setting dates and selecting places to hold the reunion. Flat Head Lake, Mont, and Rubys Inn are being considered. We wish a belated 94th birthday birth-day to Leona Stewart. We hope it was a great one. She has had the Glade Stewart family here working in her yard. Glade's wife, Karolyn, their daughter Melissa and her two children were here also. The family came to see son Aaron and his wife Cherrie bless their new baby Reggie and see granddaughter, grand-daughter, JaDee, get baptised in Escalante. Lonnie and Cheryl Pollock are the other proud grandparents in Tropic. Attending were the families of Vance Pollock, Duane .Stewart, Max Stewart, Afton and Del Rae Pollock (great-grandparents), Marty and Ethel Rich and many friends. After the event they all met at Cannonville Park for lunch and to visit. Sean and Kim Stewart are the proud parents of a beautiful new baby daughter, Kristen Leigh, who weighed 7 pounds and 1 ounce and was 20 12 inches long. Grandparents are Max and Phyllis Stewart of Tropic and the Gillies's of Panguitch. Max and Phyllis went to Bend, Ore. for corporate meet- . ings for Aspen Youth Services. They drove up and back and spent three days in Bend. While Max was attending meetings, Phyllis relaxed, shopped, and went sightseeing. William Mortenson, son of Robin and Lloyd Mortensen, of Parowan came to attend the Francisco family reunion. He brought friend, ' Morgan Niemann with him. Morgan is the daughter of John Niemann and Lorraine Marshall. They went fishing and help the Francisco's around the yard and house. Carma and Berdell Barton and John and Claudia Niemann all of Tropic, are Morgan's grandparents and Charlie and Eva Dean Francisco are William's grandparents. William is leaving soon to serve a mission in Phillipines Angelise Mission where his aunt Robin Griffin of Monroe also served. Eva Dean broke one of her vertabrae's and it is very painful and now she has to lay still for a few days to help it heal. Keela Mangum reports that 128 people were running around the Bryce Valley area lately. They were all here1 to attend the George and Iva Bell Bushnell family reunion. The Elmo Bushnell family hosted the event and people came from Pennsylvania, British Columbia, S. Dakota. California, Utah, and Idaho. A great time was had be all. Welcome to Melinda Blakie from Columbus, Ohio who is volunteering in Bryce Canyon National Park Resource Managment Division. Also we welcome Kristin Legg who is the new Chief in Resource Management. Glad to have you with us ladies. Lamar and Cheri Feltner attend the baptism of grandson, Parker Feltner in Washington, Utah. Parker is the son of Todd and Jennifer Feltner who said that their new son, Paxton, has XPE like his older sister, Paris. Cheri's sister, Shauna Smith, from Phoenix has been visiting and they went to Richfield to meet Tari Cottam from Provo to spend some time together. Tari' is Cheri's daughter. Trent Feltner and wife Leslie and children, chil-dren, and Tyler and Kristen Feltner of Apache Junction, Ariz, came to visit with the Feltner's. Marion and Catherine Littlefield tell us that son Mitch and his wife, Jessica have . moved to Logan from Cedar City. Catherine said it won't be as much fun going to Cedar City now that they are gone. Austin, Sharly and son Easton came from St. George to visit with the Littlefields. Austin is their son. Lowell and Margaret Mecham went to Lagoon on an outing. Joining them were their children Steve and his family, Scott and his family, Shauna and her family, and Sherrie from Logan. Sherrie Mecham is starting a new job in Nebo School District as a School Counselor and everyone helped her move down from Logan. Lowell and Margaret also went to Colorado Springs for Telephone Meetings and to cross the Royal Gorge Bridge. The Parley and Lydia Family Reunion was held at Cannonville Park. The Virgil Pollock family was in charge of the event. There was representation represen-tation from all families. They always have a horseshoe tournament tourna-ment and the (traveling) trophy goes home with the winner. They also had a raffle, which the kids love because almost everyone every-one wins a prize. There was lots of good food and everyone had a wonderful time. The ladies of the Tropic LDS Ward had a very enjoyable evening when they met to enjoy a Dutch Oven Dinner and each others company. It was the Annual Mothers, Daughters, and Grandmothers dinner. They held the dinner at Reed LeFevre's Pioneer Village and everyone involved in bringing the women together did a wonderful won-derful job. |
