Cal Burrows joined Ray and Alana Burrows on an ATV ride over Proctor Canyon to Tropic Reservoir. Later in the afternoon after-noon Reva and Kay Alexander, Clinton and Lanice Spendlove, and Coleen Ramsay and kids joined Cal and Carol on their lawn for refreshments. The shade trees were delightful to sit under. Hugh and Jackie Wilson visited vis-ited with Ruth Wilson. They were staying at Wilson Canyon for the extended Jessie Wilson reunion. One hundred ninety family descendants gathered there. Shirley Wilhelm and Shawna Hatch drove up to Salt Lake City for an overnight stay. Rose Elaine Deuel was surprised sur-prised on her birthday with flowers, balloons and candy and a cute stuffed pink cat. Happy, happy birthday! Garth Heap was excited to get three visits this past week by his sisters in law Beth Weideman of Henderson, Nev.', and Ruth Wilson. They sure cheered him up. The Don Heap family reunion was held at Flaming Gorge. Twenty-nine were in attendance. They enjoyed fun filled days of fishing, boating and water skiing. Tom Waren is off on another motorcycle trip to Sterges, S.D. to watch the racing. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Phil Burrows. Many attended his service. It was nice to have the main street lined with American flags as he was a proud Navy Veteran. Interment was at the Hatch Cemetery with military honors. Stan Huntington and wife, Valerie are up from Cedar City for a few days. Relief Society Enrichment night for August was at the town park. A delicious smorgasbord of salad fare was provided and a really fun "service auction" followed. fol-lowed. Maggie and Shawna Burrows had an exciting day of shopping and lunch down in St. George. Ileta Dix, Idonna Deuel accompanied Beth Allred up to Orem to attend funeral services for Veota Wooley. They paid their respects and returned the same evening. Deanna Heap spent a week or so in Cedar City housesitting while her daughter, Rochelle and family were in Oregon for their son's baseball tournament. Beth Norton of Colorado, formerly of Panguitch, was here looking up old friends. Sheinquired after Beth Barnhurst (Weideman) who fortunately for-tunately is here visiting her sister sis-ter Ruth Wilson. A good time reminiscing for them all. It has been 50 years since Beth Norton has been in the area. Sue Barney and children are on their way back to Michigan after spending a few weeks here visiting the Lamar Barneys. Her husband Lewis is continuing his education. Brandon Dix is off to the Longhorn State to visit his sister Lisa and a few cousins in Lubbock, Tex. The Hatch LDS Young Men and Women jitterbugged the night away at the five-ward i dance in Circleville. We welcome Miss Addison Wright into the world born Aug. 6, 2004 to Tracey and Wade Wright. Don't you just hate it when your flowers go into full bloom before the County Fair? Hope everyone had a chance to catch the rainbow of colorful day lillies in Becky Brook's front flower bed. |
