mother mrs emma E lee in honor of her seventieth birthday anniversary A sumptuous hot chicken dinner was served at one OM long table with nith covers laid tor for twelve A prettily decorated birthday cake centered the table and beautiful garden flowers adorned the rooms following dinner a social afternoon was enjoyed out of town guests included mr and mrs martin lee and children of salt lake city were procured tor for each family tuesdays activities included horse shoe pitching contests tall ball games and dancing on wednesday a splendid program was given which included singing readings and evening ing norman watkins and members of his orchestra were given a pleasant surprise by the management of the crystal springs north of honeyville the watkins orchestra has been furnishing music for the dances at the crystal springs for more than a year past and wednesday night when the orchestra members took their places in the orchestra stand with the intention as usual of 0 playing for the wednesday night dance they were informed by mr air streeper that their services would not be needed as the management had secured the blue bird orchestra of logan for the evening and the local players were invited to take seats at the side of the spacious dancing hill hall the musicians were chagrined at first hut but later pleasingly surprised when they were nvere informed that they were special guests of the manage merit ment during the evening and that party waa wa given in their honor each member was Preen presented ted a nice gift in appreciation of their services at the popular resort and invited to participate la in the dance later in the evening the local orchestra played several numbers while the logan orchestra members danced the dance was in the theL mature nature ot of a
