Show i t . j; -J I : ! : : ! )' A' f r v Former Tropic resident Gordon Topham, a 30-year veteran of Utah State Parks & Recreation has been named the agency's new deputy director. Topham is married to the former JoAnn Munson of Tropic. Topham Named Deputy Director Utah State Parks SALT LAKE CITY -Gordon Topham, a 30-year veteran vet-eran with Utah State Parks and Recreation, was selected as the agency's new deputy director. Topham assumes his new responsibilities immediately. For the last seven years, Topham served as Southwest Region Director in Cedar City, where he was instrumental in planning and development of Sand Hollow State Park. He previously served in the Off-Highway Off-Highway Vehicle Section, as park ranger at Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum, and as park manager at Escalanle, Dead Horse Point, and Fremont Indian state parks. Topham also worked for the National Park Service and USDA Forest ; Service. "Gordon is a very well respected and experienced professional. pro-fessional. As deputy director, his contributions to Utah State Parks will be critical to our sue- cess over the next several years," stated Utah State Parks Director Courtland Nelson. "His experience in so many areas throughout the state will serve him in local issues and rural concerns." Topham is a current member of the Utah Bureau of Land Management Advisory Council, which gives Utah State Parks an opportunity to work more effectively effec-tively with its federal partners. Topham has always been and will continue to be a strong advocate for park visitors. He knows Utah residents and visitors visi-tors expect quality experiences in our parks and programs. Topham is married to the former for-mer JoAnn Munson of Tropic, daughter of the late James and Laurene Munson. Gordon and JoAnn have five children: son Bodie Topham 29 and his wife Millie of Tooele; son Shane Topham 29 and his wife Eleny and their four children chil-dren of Providence; daughter Tori Leavitt 27 and her husband Tom and their three children of Cedar City; daughter Crystal 20, attending Dixie State College in St. George; and daughter Jordon ' 18, attending Snow College in Ephraim. |
