After a beautiful beauti-ful ceremony, Monty and Rita Twitchell hosted a luncheon at the LDS Stake Center in Bloomington Hills. They had a reception in St. George that same evening and also one' in Tropic on Sat. Mar. 15. The reception in Tropic was well attended and the Twitchells were delighted with the kindness kind-ness and generosity of this great community. Those attending enjoyed ice cream sundaes, cookies and Ethel Riches home- . made butter mints. Some of Rita's family who came to stay ' were sisters Robyn and husband , Dave Cox, Curtis and Kolene Creek with children Darren and Kelsie. Grandma Connie Kleese also joined in the festivities. festivi-ties. Almost all the Twitchell relatives were there and were such a great help. Brett and Karleena started right back to work and college at SUU on Monday. They plan to honeymoon honey-moon in May when finals are over. VerJean Clark took her moth- ed Mary Etta Chynoweth with her to Herriman, where they stayed with the children of Cary and Cynthia Clark while they went to Houston, Tex. to buy a home. He is being transferred there on Apr. 1. Cindy will stay in Herriman until July 1 so the children can finish the school year there. The company Cary works for will fly him home every weekend until the family can move to Texas. Don Mangum received word that a nephew, Ralph Mangum, passed away in Farmington, N.M. He was 93 years old. John and Ben Mathews took their dad to Farmington to attend funeral services. Ralph is a son of Don's eldest brother, Squire Mangum and they were former residents of Cannonville. Larry and Glenna Fletcher's family planned a wonderful birthday celebration for Glenna on Saturday evening. Thirty-seven Thirty-seven family and friends attended attend-ed a "green dinner" featuring a St. Patrick's Day color theme. Family members who came were Leon Fletcher, Jerome, ID; Diane, Gail and Bryce of Provo. Saturday Bonnie Willis went to Antimony to help celebrate . the third birthday of great granddaughter, Whitney Slater, daughter of Cheston and Kori Slater. Her great grandfather, Cliff Roach and aunt Micki Kirkpatrick of Orem were there also. Kay Mar and Mary Jean Willis are the grandparents. Bonnie was also able to visit her grandson, Kent Willis and friend, Annie who came from Snow College in Ephraim to the celebration. In Cannonville LDS Sacrament meeting Sunday, the youth speaker was Mikki Thompson and Stake High Council representative was Same Pollock, who spoke on "The Sacrament." A very beautiful 17th of March party was held Wednesday evening and all of the ladies were invited by receiving mock plane tickets on Sunday, stating they could board , the plane at Cannonville Air Service at 6:30 p.m. and would arrive in Nauvoo at 7 p.m. The decorations were pioneer quilts and other pioneer relics, kerosene lamps and candles were part of the centerpieces and dinner was served by other ladies in pioneer dresses. The program was on the "Organizing of the Relief Society" by the prophet. The sisters who portrayed the leaders lead-ers and presidents gave histories of the early days in Nauvoo and the trials and hardships they endured. Each sister in attendance atten-dance received a picture of the Nauvoo LDS Temple and also pictures of the early presidents of the Relief Society. John and Ramona Morreale and their family went to West t Valley City last week to help their daughter, Tamra Neely celebrate cel-ebrate her birthday. They also attended a session in the Salt Lake LDS Temple while there. Glenda Feltner is in the Garfield Memorial Hospital. We send her our love and hope she will soon be able to come home. We miss her! Bob and Mira Loy Ott went to Salt Lake City to hear their grandson, Chris Allen, give a talk prior to leaving for an LDS mission to Bahia Blanca, Argentina. News of Mel Beard is that he can walk the length of the hallway hall-way at the hospital using a walker. He only takes oxygen at night and has the feeding tube out now. i . . , |
