Show STAKE OLD FOLKS OUTING A SUCCESS banquet and program given at lorin farr park on wednesday the annual outing ot of the old folks of 0 box elder stake held at lorin farr park at ogden wednesday was conceded by all attending the biggest outstanding event of the year the honored guests were conveyed by autos to the pleasure resort through th the courtesy of automobile owners of 0 the various wards under the supervision of 0 the stake committee composed of the following peter knudson peter A marius rasmus sen lorenzo burt and martin anderson anderaon upon arrival at the park a sumptuous banquet was served at long tables with covers laid tor for honored guests over 70 years ot of age and others numbering over in all following the dinner a splendid program was rendered as follows with prel preal lent dent win C horsley as master of ceremonies community singing america ca invocation bishop J A fishburn address of welcome peter A remarks rev C E fowler duet god bless the old folks by daisy and sevena madsen 1 remarks pres S norman lee duet the glad sweet song by the madsen sisters and closing remarks peteri knudson george jason wells of willard was the oldest native ot of box elder county present at the outing he was born at willard in 1851 being one of the first white children born in this county george hamsen was the first white boy born in brigham city and mrs sarah christensen Chrie was the first white girl born here all of whom were honored by an individual introduction following the program the party went to ogden where the old folks were honored guests at the egyptian paramount and ogden theatres theartres the atres thru the courtesy of the management an am unusually pleasant time was experienced by all attending not only made possible iby by the courteous treatment ot of allin any way connected with the outing but also being favored by splendid climatic conditions in behalf ot of the old folks the stake committee desires to extend a hearty vote of thanks and gratitude to all Ns a ho so generously contributed to make mak the affair the r success it was |
