The sand ridge looked illuminated with the dark clouds in back. Henrieville's oldest resident, Golda Mclnclly, celebrated her 96th birthday on Tuesday, Sept. 1 1. Her family here all dropped in and her children who live away all called on the phone. We all wish her a very Happy Birthday! Wayne Barker and mother, Edith Barker were in Cedar City for Jim Barkers LDS mission farewell. He will be going to Quezon, Philippines. Philip-pines. He is a son of Wayne and Carolyn Barker and grandson of Edith Barker. Steve and Kathy Goulding were up north for Steve's doctor appointments. ap-pointments. They will continue to monitor his lungs. Keela Mangum brought her two friends, Daphne and Pat of North Carolina here to have lunch at the Senior Citizen Center with Iris Bushnell. Doris Liles and Iris Bushnell along with Keela and her two friends, went to Zion one day, then over to Toquerville to visit Larry Johnson. Heidi Mathews was in Salt Lake City for two days of training for her new job. Correction from last week's news. Rhoda Shafer visited Elsie Henderson, not Elaine as reported. Visitors at the Eugene Quilters was Ronald and Patsy Clark of Po-catello, Po-catello, Ida. They had been to Kanab for Ronald's school reunion. Word was received of the death of Dora Mae Farnsworth Bronson of Orangeville, Ut. She was the daughter of Hugh and Mint Farnsworth who lived here for many years. Escalante LDS Stake Conference Confer-ence was held in Escalante on Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday. Lots of members mem-bers from here were in attendance. Gary and Sandy Johnson went to Austin, Tex. and saw the Alamo and also attended the University' of Texas vs North Carolina game. .They came back to Minersville on Saturday and attended church with their family there. Their new little grandson will be names Ryker Jed Albrecht. He was born on Sept. 3 (Labor Day) and weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. Proud parents are Jed and Becca Albrecht and Braxton is the big brother. Rachael Johnson is teaching Psychology at Brigham Young University as part of her masters program. Bishop Ernie and Wynona Henderson were in St. George for LDS temple day, then on Sunday attended the missionary farewell for Brian Bullock in St. George. Mitch Henderson and friend Mike Choate came from Salt Lake City and then Mitch and other friend Brandon Taul came and helped Ernie haul wood for the winter. |
