Show Please Do Something! I am writing this letter as a concerned con-cerned citizen and resident of Garfield Gar-field County. My concern being the completion of the Johns Valley Road leading from Antimony to Bryce Canyon. If not a completion this year, we would at least like to see maintenance or upkeep being done throughout this winter on this road. Maintenance should have been started earlier in the year, as it has been promised for completion in years past and has never been followed fol-lowed through on. As you are fully aware, there are several of us who travel this road to our places of employment every day. With the onset on winter, we would like to see maintenance done on this road. As you are also fully aware, the employment rate in Garfield Gar-field County does not leave a lot of options open right now in their own communities. Which leaves us with no other alternative but to travel several miles to our jobs. Also, if any of you have ever traveled this road, you know how desolate it is. You also know there is no phone service. So if anyone were to break down or get stuck out there in the mess which has been created, it could be hours before anyone came along to help. This road has been deeded a main access road. Why is it not treated as such? All of us who are traveling this road are taxpayers of Garfield County in one way or another. We deserve to have decent roads to travel on, whether taxpayers or not! This road was in better condition condi-tion before the construction was started. But of course, construction had to come to an abrupt halt because be-cause of winter coming on. There is also the concern as to the destruction destruc-tion and damage which is being done to our vehicles. There are rattles rat-tles that were never there before, and many tires which have had to be repaired or even replaced due to the ignorance and stupidity of starting start-ing this construction so late in the year. We could all travel through (See LETTERS on page 5-A) LETTERS From Page 2-A Panguitch, but it seems that with fuel prices and taxes on the rise, employment wages are not. Then what choices do we have? How many complaints are needed, before something is done about this road? I know there have been contacts made. But the equipment still is unmoved and the road remains untouched. un-touched. Please do something! Tammy Shepherd Antimony |
