Show 77 Seniors to Graduate Tonight Garfield County's three high schools will graduate 77 seniors Thursday night, May 30. Panguitch High School claims the largest class with 38, Escalante High School has 21 and Bryce Valley High School, 18. Commencement exercises will start at 7 p.m. at the PHS gymnasium gym-nasium as the candidates for graduation gradua-tion enter to the traditional "Pomp and Circumstance," with music provided by Rick Swanger and the invocation by John Hulet. Senior Class President Ginger Hatch will give a welcoming address followed by the seniors singing "Because You Loved Me." Salutatorians Alesha Richards and Angela Torger-son Torger-son will introduce the graduates and Principal Ted Chidester will award scholarships. Heidi Christy will give a valedictory address. Chidester Chides-ter will present the graduates to members of the school board who will award their diplomas. Char Sanders and Melissa Reynolds will give a dedication and the graduates will present a collection of slides. Tyler Barney will give a valedictory address followed by the class singing "Goodbye My Friends." Luke Yardley will give the final valedictory address followed by the benediction by Janae Klein. Class advisors are Phil Singleton, Ryan Houston and Debbie Pollock. Graduating will be Sommer Allen, Chad Thomas Baldwin, Tyler J. Barney, Brent Barnhurst, Bryan Leslie Boshell, Rebecca Brinkerhoff, Heidi Ann Christy, Joslyn Michelle Christy, Curt Steele Crofts, Emily Darby, Marci Michelle Decker, Randall Aaron Dickinson, Jeannie Marie Duff, John C. Englestead, Tara Jane Excell, Daniel Fletcher, Crystal Dawn Gilbert, Ginger Hatch, Eldon Lee Hooper, Erin Schon Houston, John Hulet, Jane Luree Klein, Benjamin Matthews, Justin Mel Miller, Torie Lynn Orton, Heather Renee Osborn, Brady K. Owens, Genevieve "Red" Poll, Melissa Reynolds, Alesha Richards, Char Lee Sanders, Howard Anthony Seals, William Carl Sevy, James Moroni Stewart, Amanda Talbot, Angela Torgerson, Suzette Walsh and Luke Brent Yardley. For Escalante High School's graduating seniors, commencement exercises will start at 8 p.m. as seniors enter to a processional march. Ganett Cottam will give a welcoming address. A class history will be provided by seniors Heather Smith, Kristel Smith, Alayse Butler, But-ler, Garrett Cottam, Tracy Simpson, Chris Haycock, Jared Lyman, Jonathon LeFevre, and Matt Fullmer. The prognostication, prognostica-tion, written by Lillian Coleman, will be presented by Angela DeMartino, Kacie Allen, Candice Keen, Dianna Clark, Candace Barney, Albery Howard, Afton Venuti, and Susan Wilson. Philip Nelson, Duncan Steed, Dusty Barnson, Cody Tanner and Dustin Hardison will give the class will. Coach Jim Smith will introduce guest speaker, Principal Myron Cottam who will also present the graduating candidates. School Board Members Marc McLemore and Dell LeFevre will award diplomas. Following the recessional, an informal reception will be held will be held in the commons for graduates, family and friends. Commencement exercises will begin at Bryce Valley High School at 8 p.m. in the auditorium with the processional march to "Pomp and Circumstance." Senior Class President Russell Slack will lead in the Pledge of Allegiance and give a welcoming address. The graduating seniors will sing "Friends" accompanied by Crystal Mortenson and directed by Collette Mathews. Kara Shakespear will give the valedictory address followed by salutatorian Brandon Johnson. Wa-Lon Wa-Lon Brinkerhoff will introduce guest speaker Bill Evans, head boys basketball coach at Southern Utah University. Gail Fletcher will sing "Save the Best For Last," followed by Chrishel Syrett and Tina Foster with a video tribute to the graduating grad-uating class. Ruth Johnson and Lance Syrett will present a challenge to the class followed by Student Body President Slate Stewart with a tribute to parents and teachers. The seniors will sing, "The Dance;" Carl Shakespear will announce scholarships after which Principal Earl Slack will recommend recom-mend the graduates . Supt. Phil Blais and School Board Member Trish Thompson will accept the graduates and confer diplomas. The graduates and the audience will join in singing the Bryce Valley High School song, led by senior cheerleaders cheer-leaders Erin Fagergren and Ruth Johnson. Following the recessional, recession-al, members of the audience will meet with the graduates in the gym.
