Show Tropic News By Louise Ott 679-8776 Glenna Pollock was with daughter daugh-ter Hazel Sanders in Fredonia, not Page. Adrain and son Royce went to get her to bring her home. Ben and Luana Riddle are home. I visited with them at the post office, of-fice, said they didn't make it to California to their sons concert, just stayed with daughter Shauna Smith in Phoenix. They were treated royally, but have decided that there is no bed like their own bed. On the way home, they were caught in the snow storm in Fredonia, but made it the rest of the way safely. Good to see them back. Visiting with Steye and Myrna Winters were Ray and Lanora Walker. They worked at Bryce some time ago, and are moving to Nebraska where they are from. Ray had open heart surgery then a stroke but is doing better. Earl and Rachel Jolley have been sick this week. Hope they will get better soon. Florence Syrett and Dorie Baugh had check-ups with their doctors in Salt Lake City. They see different doctors and did not go together. Marion Littlefield took his parents, par-ents, Ira and Agnes Littlefield to St. George for Ira's check-up. It was a long day for them as they were kept waiting to see the one that did Ira's surgery. It can certainly try ones patience to wait for them. Carl Boyd was in Kentucky for a week visiting his mother and to check on their house. He has been asked to help write some history about the area: he loves to research history of different places. Vicki Syrett held a baby shower for Chrishel Leech. There was a good group, fun games, good food, and Chrishel received a lot of super things for the coming event, fun evening for all those that attended. Jack and Gaya Greenhalgh were in Las Vegas helping their son get settled into his new apartment. Ora Brinkerhoff is spending the winter months with family in Las Vegas. Another month has swiftly flown by, it seemed that January used to drag but not any more. The days have been somewhat warmer thus the snow is melting and there is mud everywhere. There is always al-ways some bad from the beautiful snow storms that we have been blessed with. Minnie Nielson and Louise Ott were in Richfield to see the eye Doctor on Tuesday. It was interesting interest-ing that there wasn't any snow along SR 89, after having so much snow here. Stanley Ott drove them down and they stopped in and visited vis-ited with Lorene Munson while there. It was such a joy to see her eyes light up when she saw us come in. Keela Mangum, Cami Mangum, Crystal Mortensen along with Iris Bushnell from Henrieville went to Salt Lake to see Carson Johnson off for his mission to Lansing, Michigan. Lance Syrett, Slate Stewart, Sarnie Pollock, and Arianne Barton went to Richfield for the LDS testimonial tes-timonial of Dusty Seals. He will be going to Brazil. Florence Syrett was in Salt Lake for a check up and she is fine. Lori Mecham was in Salt Lake on business. Margaret and Lowell Mecham was in Salt Lake to check on Margaret's mother. They saw Tony Talbot in the care center also. Merle Richards and Irene Munson Mun-son are still in the care center in Panguitch. Nyle and Merle Richard's Rich-ard's son Reldon returned to Apache Junction. Rolain Reynolds from Goshen is still here helping out while Merle is recovering. Danny Shakespear, son of Dixie Shakespear, stayed one night with her. He works for Southern Utah University but lives in New Harmony. Har-mony. Arvon Button along with two children, Cody and Marsha, visited with Dixie and went over to Panguitch. Pan-guitch. Dixie was able to visit the special people who are there and had a good visit with them. Orlan and Ferriland Ruesch are in Provo visiting with Dar and Norma Hatch, to help them finish their basement. They will then will go onto Hurricane to visit Russel and Beverly Wright; they will also be able to attend a basketball basket-ball game to see grand daughter Megan Ruesch, daughter of John and Janice Ruesch, play. It seems that a lot of the girls are excelling in the field of basketball now and even getting scholarships to further their education. We have some choice people that have moved into our community, commu-nity, they have bought the Norm and Clella Littlefield home; Dale Lee and Lucy Williams from San-ford San-ford Colo. Mr Williams has a law office in Panguitch, they are remodeling remod-eling the kitchen, and will be an asset as-set to the community. They both have joined the choir at church, have five daughters, three married: one lives in Cedar City, she and her husband have twin sons; a daughter in Richfield; and their youngest daughter is finishing the year of school in Sanford, staying with her sister. Lucy says she likes to sew and crochet, play the piano; they have four grandchildren. The Bryce.Valley drill team held their review before heading for state competition in Provo last Saturday. Their novelty was very interesting it is really interesting how they come up with such interesting things and they are different every year. This year the girls were camels, cam-els, made by the girls mothers and grandmothers. The sixth graders went to Brian Head for a day to learn to ski and had a great time. |
