Show B Marlene H.tv.-826-4859 Thanks to Barbara Munson, who is currently the president of the Munson family organization, for calling to report on their annual an-nual family reunion. It was held at Singletree campground on Boulder Mountain with 105 in attendance. This included Lloyd and Faye Munson, who left from there to go to the Missionary Training Center in Provo. From there they will go to Tampa, Fla., where Lloyd will be the LDS mission mis-sion president. Also attending were Doyle P. and LoRee Shurtz, Bountiful; Kim and Evelyn Lay and two of their children and some grandchildren, Bountiful; Hal Woolsey, Kearns (wife Lasca was unable to come as she had just had surgery and is doing well); Howard and LaNea Munson, Mun-son, three children and their families, fami-lies, Cedar City; Orpha Spencer, three children and their families, Mesa, Ariz.; Stan Munson, Trenton; Tren-ton; Dee and Maureen Nelson and family, Woods Cross; Milan and Brenda Munson and a daughter, daugh-ter, Blanding; Elwood and Vaunda Willis, daughter Lori and two grandsons; Voyle and Lillian Munson and two granddaughters, Bountiful; Bob and Mavis Munson Mun-son and Reed and Karen Munson. Karen had just returned from Russia Rus-sia where she met the three children chil-dren she and Reed are adopting. They will go back and bring the kids with them on July 11. Nelda Munson was not up to attending the reunion but I'm sure a lot of them stopped by to visit with her. Alfred and Connie Jepsen and Cecil and Carrie Griffin just returned re-turned from a trip to Idaho. Cecil and Carrie stayed in Idaho Falls for a visit with daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Troy McMur-trey McMur-trey and Alfred and Connie went on to visit Yellowstone National Park with friends from California. Ushur' and LaPriel Spencer went to Provo for doctor appointments appoin-tments . While Ushur was visiting his doctor, he had a heart attack and they took him right in and did an angioplasty. Reports are that he is doing okay. Verdin and Marie Liston, Orem, visited with Dudley and Hazel Spencer. Verdin and Dudley Dud-ley were good friends as boys when they both lived here in Escalante. Es-calante. The Listons are relatives of Neal Liston. Leslie and Libby Venuti and Jenifer Lyman went to Redlands, Calif., where they joined Marty Henrie, Danville, Calif., at the home of their brother, Tommy Sanborn, Jr. for another one of their family paint up, fix-up, remodeling re-modeling jobs on the Sanborn bathroom. They say it is always fun to get together and they accomplish ac-complish something construc-tive while they are at it. At the risk of missing some, which always happens, these are some of the people who were in town for the funeral of Clella Woolsey: Ross Woolsey and Karen Fink, Mesquitc, Nev.; Danny and RaeAnn Woolsey and sons, Salina; Chad and Joy (See Escalante News On Page 3-A) Escalante News From Page 2-A Shakespear, Tropic; Darwin and Tyra Ludgate, Cedar City; David and Barbara Reid, Salina; Hal Woolsey, Kearns; Earline Nelson and son Bruce Nelson, Green River; Clint and Margaret Woolsey, Wool-sey, Kearns; Tammy Smith, Kansas; Jolyn Peterson, Payson; Elmo and Wanda Procell, Elsi-nore; Elsi-nore; Clella's nieces Rosalee Perkins, Kearns; Audrey Barn-son, Barn-son, Salt Lake City and LaNell Nelson, Hurricane. Robbie and i Sidney Ann Woolsey were also here from Hurricane and when they returned home Sidney Ann had to be taken to the hospital for emergency surgery. She is doing better now. Danny Duncan came from Loa to spend a day or two with his grandparents, Arnold and Deon Alvey. Blake Robinson and his two daughters, Renee Porter and Ruth Baugh of Tropic, went to the races in Loa. Then, because Blake wasn't feeling well, they took him to the doctor. They ended up in St. George. Blake said they were going to give him a cat scan but they couldn't find a cat, so they did an MRI on him instead! He is back home and sounded quite chipper when I talked to him on the phone. Lana Jordan came from Duchesne and took her mother, Iona Alvey, back with her for a week. Iona said she enjoyed every minute of it. Sue Bassett, Boulder, stays with Iona part time and is not only good company for her but a good cook too! Rolain Alvey has been on a 10-day trip to Mexico with Karen Alvey, Kanab. She says they had a great trip and saw lots of exciting excit-ing places. There were four big parties last week. The Forest Service and saw mill held theirs here; the telephone company had theirs at Panguitch Lake and Garkane Power held one in Hatch. That means half the town was partying! Fay Alvey fell and hurt her foot, so one foot is bigger than the other and she wears a fluffy blue thing on it! LaVee Wiscome brought part of her family from their camp on the mountain to visit her one afternoon. Mike and Pamela Fuqua, three children and Mike's mother, Ann Fuqua, all of Bangs, Texas, were here. Dot Coombs, Boulder, came another day to help Fay put on another quilt. Dot and Anthony are back in Boulder for the summer and Anthony is able to ride his four wheeler to the post office and to visit his friends. Don Haws went to Salt Lake City where he met his wife. Ethel, and two grandsons at the airport to bring them here for a few weeks. They stayed a couple of nights with Ray and Lois Barney in Kaysville. Clem and Donita Griffin have had their children here. Craig and Kelly Lundeberg and Mitzie and Tom Borovatz, Salt Lake City. They installed an air conditioner while they were here. That will be a big help to Donita as it (See Escalante News On Page 5-A1 Escalante News From Page 3-A sounds like she will have her arm in a contraption of one kind or another all summer. She took a fall while they were visiting the Las Vegas Temple three weeks ago, and injured her shoulder. She is still in good spirits though, as always! |
