Show DISASTROUS FIRE AT WILLARD WILLARD july S fire lot lof up un known origin broke out in the large barn belonging to earl lemon located on oil the highway about two miles south of here wednesday afternoon at about and completely consumed the large structure which was vas modern with a cement foundation the flames also devoured two stacks of hay a number of farming implements the housing of an electric well and spread tar far up the mountain side mr lemon had only erected the barn located on the east side of the highway east of the lemon farm this spring at considerable sid side erable rabIe cost and had stacked his first crop of hay in it it Is thought ithac elhat probably the extreme heat of wednesday had overheated over heated the hay and the direct rays of the gun aun had come in contact with glass causing the hay to ignite but it Is not definite deficit the various neighbors gathered and fought the flames but to no a avail all land and the ruins smoldered all during the night and early this morning no insurance was carried ty by mr air lemon so all is a total loss eliza cordon toombs Toom lbs wife of joseph AT M toombs died at the family home here yesterday morning at 5 following an attack attach etheart ot of heart trouble she had been afflicted tor for some time past andrad and had only recently returned from the Id mahannah allannah hospital at brigham city where she had been given special treatment and was much improved she was a kind and loving mother and loved by all who knew her being an active worker in the various organizations ot of the church she was a relief society teacher eacher rt and was considerably skilled in needle work sewing burial cloths claths tor for loved ones and friends sirs mrs toombs was born at willard february 23 a daughter of the late bishop alfred and ella cordon she married joseph al toombs at the endowment house at salt lake city january 8 ISSO and they have since resided here she was the mother of eight e i children seven of 0 whom together with her husband survive her as follows joseph G toombs of promontory Clif clifford toombs parker toombs aliss gussee rae toombs all of willard mrs earl paine of los angeles california mrs A L glassmann and mrs 11 1 1 S gale of ogden and the following brothers and sisters patriarch E P cordon and mrs airs wm win J lowe of willard ralph cordon of driggs idaho george cordon and mrs harriet chandler of rigby idaho arid alid H II 11 cordon of ogden funeral services will be held at the willard ward chapel sunday afternoon at it 0 clock under the direction of bishop ephraim white interment will be at the family prot plot at the willard cemetery |
