Show By Marlene Haws 826-4859 Well, are you starting to write on your valentines yet? It will be here before you know it! They say time waits for no man, and it doesn't does-n't have much consideration for women either! Norm and Glennis Boardman of Kanab came to tend their grandchildren grandchil-dren while parents, Marc and Susann McLemore were out of town for school board meetings. While here, the Boardmans were able to attend two or three basketball basket-ball games and watch their grandchildren grand-children play. John and David Townsend, Dan Dockray and Klyn Haws spent a few days in Denver, Colo, last week. They attended a basketball game between the Cleveland and Denver teams. They attended the annual stock show and rodeo and a stock sale. On their way home, they had to make a detour in the Vail, Colo, area on account of snow, but all in all they enjoyed a good trip. "The Escalante Last Wagon Museum" committee will be holding hold-ing a public hearing, on the new museum, Wednesday, February 4, 7 p.m. at the Escalante Community Center. Presenters, besides the committee, will be Southern Utah University, Garfield County School District and Escalante Canyon Center Cen-ter for Arts and Humanities. Anyone Any-one interested in the planning process proc-ess should plan to attend. The family of Flora Leibenguth had planned an 80th birthday party for her last Saturday, but instead daughter, Marie Porter, had to take her to the hospital in Panguitch for a few days.' She is feeling better and they will try again later for the party. Victory Crawford took daughter, Vickie, to the hospital again. She has been having quite a time and they can't seem to find anything to help her. She is back home again. Louie and Janalee Bernardo helped Arden and Maevonn Taylor drive to Phoenix, finally. But as soon as they got there they had to take Arden into the hospital with a perforated ulcer. Judy Brooks drove Arlis and Melba Brooks down and came back with Melvin, who was down there on a truck run. It was good to visit with Dianne Austin at the ball game on Friday night. She and son, Darren, came from Ogden to attend the wedding of Keith Adams and Deann Francisco. Fran-cisco. Many of you will remember that Dianne's husband, Douglas Austin, was the Forest Ranger here 9 or 10 years ago. Their second son, Danny, has just recently started working in law enforcement. There has been a lot of dirt and dust flying in the northwest corner of town. Mark Minche is leveling the land, right across from the Parley Par-ley Pratt residence, to begin building build-ing another subdivision. Speaking of Parley, he and Leda seemed to be getting along fairly well when I visited with her' one day last week. She is still having knee problems so Parley has to do all the walking jobs, such as grocery gro-cery shopping and picking up the mail, but they are getting by. SomeofDueane Dutton's sheep have been found! Danny Reid discovered dis-covered a couple of different looking look-ing sheep in his herd and called Dueane to see if he could identify them. Sure enough, they were his! Now there are only five more missing. miss-ing. If any of you have sheep maybe you could check your herd to see if you have any strays. Ronald Mecham, Las Vegas, Nev. came with four of his sons, Kim, Russell, Doug and Darren, to check on his mother, Fontella Mecham, who is still in the hospital hospi-tal in Panguitch. They stayed here overnight. Speakers in LDS Sacrament meeting in both wards last week, were President Richard Horton and his wife, Sister Dciores Horton, of the LDS Temple Presidency in St. George. Loreta Spencer got tangled up in her telephone cord, at work, and fell breaking some ribs. She says she has a little trouble taking a deep breath! LaPriel Spencer, who is with her daughter in Orcm, writes that she is finally free of the big boot she has been wearing since she was in the car wreck months ago. |
