Show Panguitch News 1 By Mamie Talbot 676-8064 It's Christmas! Twinkling lights are brightening many homes. Yards are decorated. Parties are being be-ing held by most any organization possible. Ike LeFevre was flown to Salt Lake with chest pains where he underwent un-derwent surgery. He is here now at son Jerry LeFevre's home and is doing do-ing really well. Good luck, Ike. We miss seeing you pass on your rounds. Dave and Michelle Schow have a new baby girl, little Ashley Ann. Big brother is there to greet her. Grandparents are Norm and Dora Ann Henrie and Evanell Schow. Bob and Jaunita Smith had daughter Carol Ann and her husband Clark Combe of Roy here for Thanksgiving. The Smiths granddaughter grand-daughter Jodie Cowles has received a mission call to Richmond, Vir... Her farewell will be Dec. 29. Carol Dodds, her son David and his wife Terry and Janet Dodds Johnston enjoyed a two week tour of Israel, Egypt and other areas. Carol was amazed and delighted at the things she had only read about. The mandatory white buildings of Jerusalem, the pyramids of Egypt, the hilly country and so many things she had never thought about. She said the trip was truly wonderful. wonder-ful. A big crowd was present at the LDS First Ward Christmas party on Dec. 3. The Primary children gave the program and several young women sang lovely songs. Travis Sanders is home from his LDS mission. He reported it down south and will report it in LDS First Ward Dec. 8. Annie Frandsen daughter of Elden and Jan Frandsen was baptized. bap-tized. Most of Hope Gouldings family had their Thanksgiving celebration cele-bration at Charles and Lorene Hepworths home. It's nice to have a big room where every one can eat, visit and catch up on the news together. to-gether. Dorothy Houston had a houseful of family here. James R. and Barbara Frandsen Duckett and family are now located in Henderson, Nev. after 20 years in the military. The last four years in Germany. They have purchased a new home in Henderson so the Jay Proctor family along with Gwen and Clark Frandsen family spent the Thanksgiving weekend visiting and enjoying them. The Ducketts are ; ; ; so glad to be back in the U.S. A and have a permanent home. Merle Stowell writes from the Portland, Oregon area that she enjoys being there with her three families: Dan's, Jan's and Roberta's. THANK YOU! For what? For doing the jobs you were; hired for, elected to, paid for, not paid for, called to, serving in ways we hear about and those we never hear about, teaching healing, guiding, repairing, cleaning clean-ing up, decorating, for picking up a blowing plastic bag, for phone calls, for a glass of milk, a tank of gas, for feeding birds, giving stray cats a drink of water, for smiles and waves, for all you are: our people. Peace with you now and in all the years to come. Loyhova and Cornelia Daughters of Utah Pioneers camps held their Dec. meeting together. It was so much fun to be together with friends we don't see often. Laura and Denice Pierson, Darlene Evans daughters sang two Christmas songs. Julia Steele told the story of "The House That Glowed". Lucile Bridges gave the history of "The Return of the Morman Battalion". Hilda Gardner will be in Seattle, Wash, with her family the Harry J. Gardners for a month. We welcome Ethel Heywood Watts back to her home town for her final rest. She was Kay Heywoods sister. Many family members were here for the funeral. Our love goes to all the family. Cal and Lou Adams are in St. George for their winter stay. It is much closer to home than Phoenix is. Hope to see you often, Cal and Lou. Carla Owens was called to teach Primary in LDS Sacrament meeting Sunday. Annette Hulet was called to be Sharing Time Specialist. Kim and Lori Soper and their children chil-dren Bailie, Brendon, Broc, Adam, Josh and Kimberly were the speakers speak-ers in LDS 3rd Ward meeting. Megan Payne, daughter of the Greg Paynes, was the youth speaker. Kimberly Soper came from Southern Utah University to help with the program. The three' LDS Ward Relief Society sisters have had their special spe-cial Christmas programs. A four-ward four-ward Christmas Sacrament Meeting will be held Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center. |
