Show Cannonvill? News By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Don and Louise Mangum spent three days at "deer camp" with son David Mangum and family of St. George. On Saturday afternoon they served dinner to- 20 of their family members. Each family was represented by a member at dinner. They had a nice visit and outing. Dorothy Leavitt was taken to the hospital in Panguitch by ambulance. ambu-lance. She was able to return home but has to stay down because of back problems. Don and Louise Mangum and Mel and Phyllis Beard went to-"Hole to-"Hole in the Rock" and Phyllis said the trip really made them have more respect for the pioneers and some of the trials they had to endure. They had four of their children, seven grandchildren and five nieces and nephews aboard with them for a much needed vacation. On Tuesday, Tues-day, they took Mel, Phyllis and Aaron Beard for a boat ride up to Rainbow Bridge and all said that the scenery is positively fantastic. LDS Relief Society sisters having hav-ing birthdays in October were treated to a special lunch at Ruby's Inn. Birthday girls were Louise Mangum, Anita Fletcher and Cathy Fletcher. Also going along were Rita Hammer, Erma Clark, Phyllis Beard and Ramona Morreale. Golden Johnson is recovering following surgery on his shoulder. We hope it heals fast and well. After inquiring around about the deer hunt, so far have heard of only one family who has had success; John and Charlotte Mathews got one. Lloyd Mathews received his LDS mission call to the Nebraska Omaha mission. He will leave in January. He is a son of Ben and Diane Mathews. |
