Show Park Service To Discuss Shuttle System At BCNP BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL NA-TIONAL PARK A shuttle system sys-tem designed to alleviate traffic at Bryce Canyon National Park is being considered for implementation implementa-tion in May 1999. Park personnel will be on hand for two open houses to discuss the plans with the public. The Park Service has scheduled sched-uled an open house in Tropic for Monday, Aug. 10 at the Scout House, and in Panguitch on Monday, Mon-day, Aug. 17 in the commission chambers at the Garfield County Courthouse. Both open houses are set for 4 to 7 p.m. The shuttle system is one of the numerous Recreation Fee Demonstration Program projects identified by Bryce Canyon National Na-tional Park. The program, authorized author-ized by Congress in 1996 allows parks participating in the program to retain 80 percent of the fees received in the park, which will be used to address the ever . increasing in-creasing visitor and resource demands. de-mands. The goal of the shuttle system is to alleviate crowding and traffic congestion within the main amphitheater of the park. The open houses will allow the public to learn more about the shuttle system in an informal setting, set-ting, at their leisure. Park representatives repre-sentatives will be in attendance to answer questions, and site bulletins, bul-letins, maps, drawings and photographs photo-graphs about the shuttle system will be on display.
