Show Mountain Fuel To Conduct Survey PANGUITCH Mountain Fuel representatives will conduct a door-to-door canvass Oct. 28 - Nov. 2 to provide Panguitch residents an opportunity to sign up for natural gas service. If 80 percent of those surveyed sign up, Mountain Fuel could begin construction as early as next spring. About 600 residences and businesses busi-nesses near the proposed pipeline route will be contacted. If enough potential customers sign up for service, ser-vice, Mountain Fuel will tap its existing ex-isting high-pressure line in Dog Valley and run a new line to Panguitch. Residents who sign up for natural natu-ral gas service will be charged the lowest Utah residential rate, including includ-ing the standard $5 monthly customer cus-tomer charge that helps cover the cost of reading meters, accounting, billing and mailing. In addition, customers living in Panguitch, like those in other expansion area, will pay a $30 extension area charge. This charge will appear on customers' cus-tomers' monthly bills until the cost of installing the system is paid for, or for 15 years, whichever occurs first. According to Mountain Fuel, residential customers' monthly gas bills will still vary depending on how much natural gas is used, but the $5 customer charge and the $30 monthly extension-area charge will be the same. For commercial customers, cus-tomers, the monthly extension area charge may be determined by the amount of natural gas used, but will not be less than $30. "We're anxious to serve Panguitch residents," said Doyce Coates, Mountain Fuel's Southern Region manager. "Many customer;, have expressed an interest in signing sign-ing up for natural gas service because be-cause they know what a good value it is. We hope it's a service everyone every-one wants. Residents who have specific questions about natural gas sign up, construction, equipment conversion and so forth can have them answered during our canvass."
