Show Holiday Celebrations Are Set County-Wide Final preparations for traditional 4th of July celebrations are underway in most communities in the county where vacationing families are invited to join in the fun and festivities. The American flag will be flying high in small communities throughout the county as residents, ever patriotic and conscious of their heritage, proudly display the national emblem. A few small communities still carry on with old-time customs of early morning flag-raising ceremonies, some will celebrate all weekend, and others just on the holiday itself on Thursday. Panguitch will start the festivities off at 10 a.m. with a youth parade down Main street. Participants may line up at the courthouse at 9:45 a.m. A barbecue dinner will be held at the city park at 800 N. Main at 12 p.m., with children's games and a small carnival following at 3 p.m. At 7 p.m., the FFA Junior Rodeo and concessions will be held at the Fairgrounds at 800 N. Main. Immediately after, fireworks will begin and a dance will be held at the fair building after the fireworks at approximately 9 p.m. Boulder will celebrate on Thursday, July 4 with a parade to kick off the festivities at 11 a.m. Children's games and races will start at 12 p.m. and a delicious chicken barbecue dinner will start at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, $25 per family. (See Area Communities Plan Holiday Holi-day Activities On Page 4A) Area Communities Set Holiday Activities From Page 1 A big dance will be held on Friday evening, July 5 featuring Crazy Coyote, a band from Provo playing from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person, kids 12 and under free. On Saturday, July 6 a Bluegrass Festival will be held all day in Boulder with entertainment for all. Everyone can call Heather or Jennifer Davis about the parade and Ada Cox about the children's games. Wulf Barsch, in charge of the event, heads up several of the committees. Tropic town celebrates the holiday on Saturday, July 6, with a flag-raising ceremony at 8 a.m. at the Scout House at the town park in the center of town. Traditional children's foot races follow at 9 a.m. with all kinds of games for kids and adults. A bake sale sponsored by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will be held during the morning at the park also. Contact Dixie Shakespear for more details. At 12 p.m., hamburgers and hot dogs will be offered for lunch, with a Centennial Program following at 2 p.m. at the Bryce Valley High School Auditorium.
