Show Pqnguitch News By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The cattle are being brought in from the forest range. The farmers are trying again to get the hay cut and in that was still standing before it rained for two weeks. There is an outbreak of Chicken pox in town. Seems to come around every year, Lyle, Kathy and Callee Talbot of Sandy stopped overnight with Lyle's mom Mamie as they were on their way to a family LDS mission mis-sion farewell in St George. Sure is nice to see family and have someone some-one to fix things. No one has called to let me know but the family fam-ily whose son is going on a mission mis-sion is Joe and Julie Owens McMullin. Bruce and Vema Owens, the Denny and Jean Orton family and the Bob and Jill Owens McCullough family, along with grandpa Kern Owens were conspicuous con-spicuous by third absence from town about then. Also Vern and Pam Robinson are part of the fam-ily. fam-ily. Rehearsals for the Christmas performance of "The Messiah" have started for those interested in taking part. The rehearsals will be held in the LDS Stake Center. In LDS Second Ward Sacrament Sacra-ment Meeting, Stake High Council representative Craig Barney presented pre-sented the names of a number of people to be sustained to Stake positions as the next confernence won't be held until January. Craig also brought the message of "caring and reverence for Church buildings," build-ings," from the Stake presidency. Lacee Leach and Jason Excell were the interesting youth speakers. Brett Sawyer, son of Arlin and Connie Sawyer, was ordained a Teacher in the Aaronic Preisthood. Brandon Barton, son the Neal and Tammy Barton, received his Eagle Scout award. Mamie D. Hatch was called as Librarian, with Howard Hatch, Bob and Ina Hanks and Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Davies as Library aides. Randi Miller and Lynette Sawyer will work in the Sunday School. The ward choir sounded great. Stake speakers in LDS Third Ward Sacrament meeting were Joyce Christensen of the Primary presidency and Steven Marshall of the High Council. Holly Hulet and Jesse Klein were excellent youth speakers. Jennifer Wilson and Rachel Ra-chel Keller's musical numbers were lovely. It's time to take the hoses in. The culinary water meters have been read for the last time this summer and the irrigation water has been shut off for the town. City workers are trying to get repairs to the water, sewer, and streets done before the weather gets colder. It's getting that way. There are still lots of campers and other tourist here. The garbage boxes at the beginning be-ginning of River Lane look so neat and clean. Thanks to those responsible. respon-sible. The red walls are going up on the new elementary school gym. The cement floor is poured atid the students and staff are very interested in watching the workers doing their thing. Phil Norton's new big house on the west side of town is covered with gleaming white siding. Faye Worthen has had her kids here. Tim and Fay Ann Christensen and son Chris visited with Faye.
