Show V. Lee Oertle BEAVER, UTAH V. Lee Oertle, 65, died Sept. 29, 1993 in San Diego, Calif., of a heart attack. He was born Sept. 22, 1928 at Salmon, Ida. He was self-employed most of his life as a free lance outdoor writer and was an avid outdoors-man. outdoors-man. He developed a mail-order business, a Christmas tree farm in California, a campground in Beaver, and had various mining claims and a rock shop in Beaver. He married Dixie June Bedwell on Oct. 30,1949. She died Oct. 12, 1992. He married Sue Carolyn Bledsoe on April 3, 1993. His greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Sue Oertle, Beaver; three daughters, Deborah Granbdos of Buena Park, Calif., Kaye Weimer of Monroe, Utah, and Dorla Wight of Beaver, and 10 grandchildren. Also, two step-daughters, Jonette Filbcck and Christina Tirabasso, both of Chino, Calif., and four step-grandchildren; and his mother, Alice Farnsworlh Oertle of Beaver. Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 4, 1993 at Mountain Cove Cemetery, Beaver. DuWayne ST. GEORGE, UTAH Funeral Fu-neral services were held at Metcalf Mortuary Chapel in St. George on Friday, October 1, 1993 for DuWayne Lee Henrie, age 89, who died September 27, 1993 in St. George, Utah. He was born November 29, 1903 in Panguitch, Utah to John Nathanial and Emmy Lee Henrie. He grew up in Panguitch and served a mission for the LDS Church in the Northern States. He later served six LDS Stake Missions. Mis-sions. On March 17, 1930, he married Ada Showalter in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was stricken with crippling arthritis two years later. He moved with his family to Phoenix, Ariz, in 1934 where they lived until moving to St. George, Utah in 1988. A High Priest in the LDS Church, he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Gospel Doctrine teacher for many years. Despite his handicap, he worked most of his life until retiring at 70 as head of the Boat Registration Carlson Henry Syrett BRYCE Funeral services for Carlson Henry Syrett were held Thursday, September 30, 1993 in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Lonnie Pol-lock presiding and 1st Counselor Frederick J. Syrett, a son, offi-ciating and conducting the service. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Luana Riddle and Crystal Mortensen with son Roderick Rod-erick K. Syrett offering the family prayer prior to the opening of the service. An opening song "Let Us All Speak Kind Words To Each i Other," was rendered by the Tropic LDS Ward Choir, accompanied by Crystal Mortensen with daughter-in-law Maurietta Syrett as chorister. chor-ister. A son, Robert L. Syrett offered the invocation, followed by a history his-tory by daughters Dawnetta Rut-ledge, Rut-ledge, Shauna Anderson and Karleen Mclnelly. Grandson Bret D. Syrett gave a tribute with musical selections "I Am A Child Of God" and "Love One Another" performed by the family grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Son Arthur G. Syrett spoke, followed by another musical musi-cal selection "When You And I Were Young Maggie," sung by grandchildren David and Debbie Jensen and accompanied by Crystal Mortensen. Son Frederick J. Syrett spoke, followed by remarks from Bishop L. Henrie Department for the State of Arizona. Ari-zona. He played basketball as a young man for Panguitch High School and for Utah State College. In the National Na-tional High School Tournament in Chicago, in 1924, he was named Ail-American center and was picked as center on the State All-Star All-Star team after Panguitch won the State Championship that year. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada, who died April 12, 1993 and by his brothers: Orald, Gerald and Nyal, a sister, Emmy Orton and two half-brothers, Arthur and Barton. Bar-ton. He is survived by his daughters, daugh-ters, Cheer (Mrs. Robert) Owens, St. George and Gay (Mrs. Jack) Morgan, Scottsdale, Ariz; eight grandchildren, eighteen greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also one brother: Ercil Henrie, Panguitch, Utah; a sister, LaVera Hannig, Boulder City, Nev. and a half-sister, Hazel Dean Wignall, Payson, Utah. Interment was in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary. Lonnie Pollock. The closing song, "The Test," was performed by the Tropic Ward Choir with the benediction bene-diction being offered by grandson Jeddie Kay LeFevre. Pallbearers were Bret D. Syrett, Arthur G. Syrett, MonDell H. Syrett, Robert L. Syrett, Roderick K. Syrett, Frederick J. Syrett, Craig H Rutledge, Blaine J. Anderson and R. Dean Mclnelly. Honorary pallbearers included the grandsons and great-grandsons. Flower girls included the granddaughters, grand-daughters, great-granddaughters and a great-great-granddaughter. Compassionate services were rendered by the sisters of the Tropic LDS Ward. Interment was in the Panguitch Cemetery with son MonDell H. Syrett performing the dedication of the grave. All arrangements were under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. |
