Hilda Whitener BOULDER Funeral services were held Jan. 10 in Lehi at Wing Mortuary Chapel for Hilda Thompson Thom-pson Whitener, 64, who died Jan. 6, 1986 in a Provo hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Boulder, to James Richard and Ellen Peterson Thompson. She married William Marshall Whitener Apr. 26, 1940, in Evanston, Wyo.; he died Oct. 23, 1976. She did some home nursing. She was a member of the LDS church. She is survived by two sons and five daughters: Jim Marshall Whitener and Mrs. Kay (Judy) Turner, both of American Fork; Jennings A. Whitener, Mrs. Elizabeth (Elaine) Morrill, Mrs. Vadah Berry and Mrs. Dot Strasburg, all of Lehi; Mrs. Robert (Mary) Jacobs, Highland; 18 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters: Berdell Thompson and Mrs. Myra Woolsey, both of Salt Lake City; Melvin Thompson, Levan; Mrs. Elise Ott, Escalante; Mrs. Edna Haycock, Lehi; Mrs. Alvey (Larete) Sherman, Imperial Beach, Calif. Officiating at funeral services were Bishop Sherral Sudweeks of the Lehi LDS Seventh Ward. The family prayer was offered by Ned Kirk with the invocation by Kenneth Grace. Vocal solos were sung by Connie Grace. A biographical sketch was given by Bud Ormond, remarks by Bishop Sudweeks and the speaker was Delbert Sudweeks. The benediction was by Joel Cash. Pallbearers were Gerald Morrill, David Morrill, Rick Morrill, Sean Jacobs nad Bryon Whitener. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Whitener, Josh Whitener, David Whitener, Adam Whitener, Chris Whitener and Jake Strasburg. Dedication of the grave ,was by Ned Kirk with interment in Lehi City Cemetery. |
