Show Mother, Son Ordered To Appear In Court Jan. 16. Former Escalante resident Richard Postlethuwait was bound over Jan. 8 in Panguitch by Judge David Mower to face six separate felony counts. Postlethuwait is charged with four second degree felonies (theft of firearms) and two third degree felonies (burglaries). He is incarcerated in the Garfield County jail. Postlethuwait had been picked up Dec. 25, 1991 in Salt Lake City after a warrant had been issued for his arrest following his failure to appear in court on two separate occasions oc-casions as ordered by the court Arraignment was set for Jan. 16 to hear his plea and to set a trial date. Postlethuwait is represented by the county's public defender Kent Winward, Cedar City. Garfield County Attorney Wallace Wal-lace Lee is prosecuting the case for the state. Postlethuwait's mother, Rcna Marshall, also a former Escalante resident, failed to appear in court on Jan. 8 for her preliminary hearing on a third degree felony charge. She is charged with tampering with a witness in an incident alleged to have taken place on Oct. 2, 1991 in Escalante. County Attorney Lee asked for a bench warrant and $5,000 bail. Public Defender Winward convinced the judge to give her another chance to appear voluntarily. Judge Mower Mow-er ordered her to appear Jan. 16, with the promise to issue a bench warrant if she fails to appear. |
