Show Step Up And Go For It! Everyone remembers the old saying "if you do not like the cooking, then you cook the next IT meal." After the recent city council meeting in Escalante in which the ' Escalante Action Team presented their economic development ideas to the city council, it became apparent ap-parent to me that this old saying should again be revived. Although the presentation to the city council went well, there were a few negative nega-tive people present that because they were against one of our projects, pro-jects, tried to discredit the Action Team as a whole. I felt that this was totally unfair. And so I publicly challenge those people to channel their negative nega-tive energy into ways to help Escalante survive the economic crisis cri-sis that we are in. I challenge them to do the following: 1. In three months produce a written document designating at least 5 projects that sustain or cre- ate jobs for our area. 2. Submit costs for each step necessary for the completion of each project ": , 3. Make sure that every person in the community knows abouf'ev-erything abouf'ev-erything you are doing. 4. Present this material, with calculated costs to the city council, making available a copy for everyone every-one that desires one. 5. List funding sources for each project. 6. Within 9 months show that you have brought $80,000-590,000 into the county. It is so sad that after many many hours of meetings by 16 people representing a cross section of our community (who got picked and for what reason seems to be a hangup), hang-up), brainstorming for ideas to help the economy in our area we are criticized by a few politically-minded politically-minded people who deem it a dishonest dis-honest effort Now, you folks at that meeting know who you are so step up and get after it!
