Show By Mamie Talbot It's fascinating to sit and watch the snow fall, especially if one doesn't need to get out in it. Of course the livestock always have to be fed and watered and if we bum wood, it has to be carried in. On the whole though, many folks just sit, watch, smile and hope for more snow. The cold snap over the holidays caused problems for some of thosei who had gone away from their homes. The Dave Harrises went to Oklahoma to visit daughter Wendy's family and came home to a house where broken pipes had soaked the house from ceiling to floor. So they had to find another place to live while the extensive damage is being repaired. They are living in the Art Tcbbs home. Merle Stowell came home after spending the holidays in St. George with son Don Stowell's family to find an ice covered carport. A pipe on her service porch had burst Fortunately the water gushed down the back steps and onto the carport instead of into her kitchen and other rooms. This is just a sample of what most of us had forgotten how to deal with since it has been some years since we had such a cold spell. Out of town visitors during the holidays at Rachel Anderson's home were the Mendenhalls of Salt Lake City: Pam, Arthur, A.J., Ce-lestia Ce-lestia and Morgan; the Deibers from Evanston Wyoming: Susan, Kevin and Christal; and Bob and Virginia Veals, Ogden; Austin and Laura Anderson, Logan; and Darwin Dar-win and Marilyn Anderson, Aurora. Jim and Verda Oldham enjoyed having their kids Gary and Iris Oldham Old-ham Weise here from Seattle to spend Christmas. After several days the young people then went on to California to watch their University of Washington football team play in the Rose Bowl game. Family members of Pan-guitchite Pan-guitchite Allie Webb Veater Wainscott were here for her funeral. Going to Kanab for the funeral of Dora Henrie Veater were Clair and Sherrie Tebbs Veater, Merle Stowell and Norm and Dora Ann Henrie. They enjoyed visiting with Dora's children and also with Ward L. (Gabby) Moore, Les and Camilla Tebbs Henrie and the fami-.. lies of Arvel Henrie and Archie Henrie, all Panguitch natives. Laurel and Louise Holman were surprised and delighted when they met Neil and Michelle Holman Maxwell at the Las Vegas airport to bring them home for Christmas. Michelle walked off the plane carrying carry-ing a four-day old adopted baby girl, Addison Noel Maxwell, whom they received only three hours before be-fore leaving for the plane trip. She was a wonderful surprise Christmas gift for the entire Holman family members who were all here for the holidays. Earl and Evalyn Roe had many of their family here for Christmas. Then they went north for the funeral fu-neral services of Evalyn's sister Mildred Marshall Egan. Another Panguitch death was that of Dona D. Mclff, wife of the late Rex Mclff of Sterling, who died only a month ago. Keith and Rosemond Henrie had 10 of their family members home for the holidays. Frankie Burningham graduated from LDS Primary, received her Gospel in Action award and entered into the Young Women's program in the Third Ward MIA. Jean Orion Or-ion was called as chorister and the membership records of the Ted Chidestcr and Craig Porter families were received in the Third Ward. The three Panguitch LDS Wards rotated ro-tated the time of their block meetings meet-ings the first of the new year. The Panguitch LDS Second Ward will start their meetings at 9 a.m.; the Third Ward will start at 1 1 a.m. and the First Ward will move to 1 p.m. on Sundays. A farewell testimonial for Elder Tim Black was held in the Panguitch Pan-guitch LDS Third Ward. Tim has been called to work as a missionary in the England London Mission. He is the son of William and Sandra San-dra Black. Many of their family members were here for the occasion, occa-sion, including the family of Tim's brother, Dave Black, from Holland. Dave's family will be in Panguitch for some time. Jay and Maxine Crosby went north to the missionary farewell for Justin Crosby, their first grandson to be called on an LDS mission. He will serve in the West Indies Mission and is the son of Evan Crosby.
