Show A KG A ODOYUAROLIS - Charles W. Wayne ST. GEORGE Charles William Wayne, age 65, died Friday, Fri-day, April 9, 1993 in St. George, Utah. He was born May 27, 1927 in Sinclair, Wyo. to Nelson LeRoy and Goldie May Well Wayne. He married Kolleen Griffin Dec. 2, 1970 in Farmington, N.M. Charles worked as an air drilling engineer overseas in Italy, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Central America for several years, before purchasing a semi-trailer truck and working as owner and operator until Nov. 30, 1991 when a job-related accident forced his retirement. A World War II veteran, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. Charles loved working with wood, and tools and was a very versatile person with many hobbies and interests. Ada Showalter Henrie ST. GEORGE Ada Showalter Henrie, age 83, died Monday, April 12, 1993 in St. George, Utah. She was bom April 22, 1909 at Panguitch, Utah, to Blanch (Clark) and James Boy Showalter. She grew up in Panguitch and after graduation from Panguitch High School, she attended Brigham Young University for two years. On March 17, 1930, she married DuWayne L. Henrie in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. She taught music mu-sic at Panguitch High School and later worked as a court clerk in Phoenix, Ariz., for many years. At the age of 11, she became ward organist in Panguitch, a calling call-ing which spanned the next 70 years of her life, in Phoenix and in St. George, in every ward in which she lived. She continued to serve as organist while serving as Relief Society So-ciety president in the Phoenix Second Sec-ond Ward. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Earl, Victor and Clark Showalter, and her sisters, sis-ters, Gai Clitheroe, Leah Sargent, Nellie Goulding and Blanch Henrie. She is survived by her husband, DuWayne, of St. George, two daughters. Cheer (Mrs. Robert) Owens, St George and Gay (Mrs. Jack) Morgan, Scottsdale, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Surviving family members include: in-clude: his wife, Kolleen of St. George, Ge-orge, Utah; four stepsons, and their spouses, David (Marilyn) Griffin, Torrance, Calif.; Kent (Marilyn) Griffin, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Glen (Debra) Griffin, Piano, Tex.; Russell (Julie) Griffin, St. George, Utah;; two step-daughters, Peggy (John) Meisenbach, Santa Ana, Calif.; Dorothy (Bob) Mollodc, Del Mar, New Jersey; 17 grand-children; two sisters. Funeral services were held Monday, Mon-day, April 12, 1993 at 10 a.m. in the St. George 15th Ward LDS Chapel Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery at 4 p.m. on Monday, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, St. George. Funeral services will be held at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16. Friends may call on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:30, prior to the services. ser-vices. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction di-rection of Metcalf Mortuary. Angeline Ahlstrom Funeral services are pending for former Tropic resident Angeline J. Norton Ahlstrom, 88, who passed away peacefully April 13, 1993 at the home of her daughter Lois Frazier in Hyde Park, Utah. |
