Show Pressurized Irrigation System Being Tested In response to questions about the progress of Panguitch's secondary pressurized irrigation system, City Manager Bruce Fullmer noted that the .contractor, George Johnson Company, is presently testing the system, repairing leaks and ironing out some of the final details. He said that it is vitally important that citizens do not open their water valves at any time until notice of completion is given by the City Office so thai the contractor can successfully accomplish his testing. Fullmer sajd that if people are trying to use the system while testing is being done, it will delay the Completion of theiystem. Fullmer said that Howard Construction r ;ceived the bid for the second phase oLconstruction on the irrigation system. Currently, the diversion structure, about one mile west of Panguitch, has been completed and the company is now installing the water supply lino. The estimated completion date for the entire system, both phases, ready for use,is about the middle of May. Fullmer reminds citizens that they should not develop a sprinkling system on their lot using both irrigation a culinary water since it could contaminate the culinary system. Property-owners with clean up problems should notify the city office, or those needing an extension on risors to bring water onto their property. Any other concerns should be reported to the City officials, Fullmer said, so that the contractor can correqt any existing problems before the system is put into use. Fullmer said that Mayor Jon Torgerson and members of the city council are enthused about the near completion of the water project and expect that citizens will benefit widely from its use once it becomes operational. |
