Show 'Saturn' Program Continues at SUSC CEDAR CITY -"Saturn: The Voyager Encounter" continues through November at the Southern Utah State College Ashcroft Observatory. Showtime is at 8 p.m. each Monday and Friday evening, an hour earlier than previous shows because of daylight-saving time. The November program deals with the most up-to-date information about Saturn, the huge planet some 886 million miles from the sun which has mystified stargazers for thousands of years with its many moons and multiple rings. Visitors to the Ashcroft Observatory will have an opportunity to view the autumn skies If weather permits through the facility's 14-inch Muskatov telescope. Special group showings can be arranged by calling 586-7900. A $7.50 fee is charged for observatory programs on nights other than Mondays and Fridays. Roadway signs clearly mark the way to the SUSC observatory which is located about three miles southwest of Cedar City on Utah Hwy. 56. |
