Show school board notes fine enrollment A summary ot of school attendance tor for the first week 0 of the year was made in the school board meeting held last friday li white while the elementary enrollment in this city Is not going to exceed that of last year yet the he enrollment roll ment in tile the high school will be somewhat increased there will most likely he be 1000 students in the elementary schools and 1100 in the high school there will be or more in the bear river high school garland and tremonton Tre monton have had some increase the county as a whole will wili make a small gain fielding collin ston and beaver dam have had in increases due largely to the works at the wheelon plant woodrow in junction valley has applied tor for a school the attendance at promontory station has decreased so that it was a question ot of discussion whether this school should not take a recess tor for a year some of the citizens were in III to protect against closing holding out as one argument that it had bad never been closed in forty years the board finally employed mrs katherine Kather lne ivie to teach at promontory and the superintendent perin started the work going there on monday supervisors robinson and taylor are now visiting the schools in the tar west vest which were not included in the above report all the schools were reported but eight namely grouse creek lucia park valley rosette kelton clear creek standrod and yost the standrod school is under the supervision per vision ot of the utah officials this year it was managed by tho idaho people last year about halt half ot of tile the pupils live in idaho and about halt in utah the school is just two rods south ot of the utah line |
