Show 'Stan-v-Evecl' I Kids i Students in Garfield County schools will have a unique experience Thursday and Friday as the Hansen Planetarium Astrovan spends two days in the area acquainting the young people to space exploration and related science subjects in a very special way. A 60 minute lecture-demonstration will be presnted utilizing models of launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, and other educational equipment Subjects covered will be living-in-space, the Apollo program, telemetry decoding, and other subjects of a general nature designed to appeal to nearly all students regardless off science background. In order to make the Astrovan visit as educational as possible, the lecturer will address classroom size groups after the assembly. The discussions will include slide presentations on plentary exploration, lunar geology, satellite technolgoy, and stellar evolution. ', Other activities may include model rocket launches, viewing the sun through a modified telescope, or looking at a lunar sample or some meteorites. The discussions are designed to parallel current class curriculum and offer an opportunity for interchange between the students and the lecturer. A telescope observing session can be arranged for the evening to allow students to view the ; moon, planets, stars, galaxies and other wonders of the universe.
