Completed at a minimum cost with wiring, paneling, painting, and other skills donated by company employees, the work on the facility was praised by Douglas Mollet, Garfield area manager for Garkane. The remodeled building was the original home of an early Garkane employee. The Hatch facility is the central office for Mollet, his secretary, Linda Sherwood, six linemen, one warehouse mechanic, and five part time employees. The office services 1733 consumers with eight substations and a five megawatt hydroelectric generating plant in Boulder. Mollet was brought into the Hatch office in June, 1980, in a generl reorganization attempt by Garkane to Panguitch. Sherwood was hired as secretary seven months ago has worked at filing and reorganizing under Millet's new "controlled system." She has been trained in operating radio dispatch, mapping additions and alterations in power lines throughout the county, and has set up a cross filing system indexing warehouse materials. Mollet noted that the new "controlled system" helps to reduce inefficiencies in services provided. Most any problem occurring to a consumer can be answered from the Hatch office. Many billing questions can also be handled udner the system, but all main accounting is still done at the main office in Richfield. Mollet's greatest satisfaction in his job comes from working with a group of men and one woman whose loyalty is so company oriented, he said making his supervisory job very easy. Mollet, 29, is a newcomer to Garfield County, is one of seven children born to farming parents in Burbank. South Dakota. He attended South Dakota State and University of Colorado, majoring in electrical engineering and business management. He paid for his college education by working as an electrician and lineman while obtaining his degrees. Prior to being selected to fill his new post, he worked as assistant engieneer for two years with Missoula Electric Cooperative in Montana. His interests include flying, singing, and sports.
