Show fieulah Crosby Allen Beulah Crosby Allen, 82, Panguitch, died in a Pangultch hospital July IS, 1981. She was born Aug. 28, 1888, Pangultch, to Samuel Obed and Hannah Adelia Bunker Crosby. She was married to John Earl Allen, Jan. 23, 1918, Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a graduate nurse and assisted doctors in the Garfield area before a hospital was established. She was active in all auxiliaries of the LDS Church and was a teacher in all organizations. She Beulah Crosby Allen served as president of the Relief Society and was first president of the American Lesion Auxiliary in Panguitch and remained active for many years in that group. She served three short-term LDS missions with her husband and for the past eight years they were ordinance workers in the St. George LDS Temple. Survivors: husband, Panguitch; sons, daughter, Samuel Earl, Mrs., Konroy (Cleo) Henrle, both Panguitch; Clem C, Provo; Mrs. James (Rowa) Lee, Las Vegas; George, Helena, Mont.; John W., Logan; 25 grandchildren; 49 greatgrandchildren; sister, Naomi Bliss, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were Saturday in the Panguitch Second Ward chapel with Bishop Carl Farnsworth, presiding and Samuel Earl Allen officiating. The family prayer was offered by George E. Allen. Following prelude music by Irene McEwen and Barabara Orton, Bradford Allen offered the invocation. A musical number, In the Garden, was rendered by the TriWard Choir. Allen K. Henrie paid public tribute to his grandmother. He was followed by Ruth A. Miles who offered a few remarks. Allen family members sang "0 My Father," before Mary Henry and Kern Owens spoke to those gathered. Following words from Bishop Carl Farnsworth, the TriWard Choir sang another selection, "God be With You TU1 We Meet Again." The benediction was offered by James I. Lee. Neal S. Magleby & Sons arranged the burial in Panguitch Cemetery where Jay Crosby dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. Granddaughters, under the direction of Kathy Miller, were flower girls. Afton L. Barney Afton L. Barney, 84, Richfield, died July 16, 1981, in a Richfield hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1896, Escalante, to Scott and Scytha Lay Barney. He married Lillie Nielson, May 8, 1916, 'Junction; later divor-ced.He married Velda Farmer, March 29, 1929, Richfield; later solem- Afton Barney nized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was active in the LDS Church. Survivors: widow, Richfield; sons, daughters. Mrs. LaRcne Smith, Salt Lake City; GFreeland, Magna; Mrs. Meryl Wilson, San Raphael, Calif.; Larry, Farrell, both Green River, Wyo.,; Orean, Clem, Mrs. LaVell (Gladys) Waters, Mrs. Mark (Vonda( Snedeger, all Richfield; Mrs. Dallin (Donna) Magleby, Monroe; 38 grand-children; 38 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, sisters, Mrs. William (Nan) Lindsay, Mrs. Howard (Lena) Alvey, Vay, all Salt Lake City; Theodore, Blackfoot, Ida.; Clarion, Othello, both Escalante. Funsral services were Monday in the Richfield First Ward chapel with Bishop Joseph Stott, officiating. LaVell Waters offered the family t l v...-... - . . . - . prayer and John and Sheryl Waters played prelude and postlude music. Morris Ogden offered the invocation. Speakers were Wayne D. Campbell, Kenneth Isbell and remarks by Bishop Stott. Music included vocal duet by Vickie Barney and Monica Christen-senvocal duet, Phil and Nina Jorgensen. Howard Alvey offered the benediction. Burial was in the Richfield City Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary where Jack Smeath offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Roger Barney, Daril Magleby, Devin Magleby, Jeff Snedeger, Blake Barney) Darren Barney, Russell Snedeger, David Waters, Maynard Barney. |
