Show Grand Prize Winner Takes TV In Final Christmas Drawing Eleven year old Clay Burningham, Panguitch, is the envy of every youngster in Garfield County as he watches television on his own 25 inch color console television set resting handsomely in his bedroom. Young Clay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug D. Burningham was grand prize winner at the final drawing for prizes Christmas eve in Panguitch. Lucky Clay also won a tool kit from Richfield Auto. The television set was chosen as grand prize by the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce and purchased with money donated by local merchants. Additionally, prizes were awarded in drawings held each Saturday afternoon in December as incentive for county residents to "Shop at Home" in Panguitch. Other winners at the final drawing held in the afternoon before Christmas at the Welcome Mart were Scott Simkins who won a $5 gift certificate from Alice's Classic Shop; Shirley Bulkley who won a ham from SUE; Troy Jolley . who won a man's shirt from Panguitch Outlet; Kim Johnson who won a turkey from Welcome Mart; Reid Miller who won a $10 gift certificate from Lil Injun Curio; and Russell Dalton, Panguitch Chamber of Commerce president, and Glen Tingey, immediate past president, deliver 25 inch color console television set to bedroom of young Clay Candi Orton who won a $5 gift certificate from Pangutich Drug. Ipson Distributing donated 12 one gallon containers of orange juice which were won by Tiffany Dalton, Todd Crofts, Corinne Englestead, Jean Orton, Arlene Davenport, Shannon Allen, Eva Marshall, Bitsy Hatch, Winona Sevy, and Jamie Hatch. Western Auto donated toys won by Bessie Perkins, Winona Sevy, and Dean Young; Panguitch Floral donated poinsettias won by Shaylayne Fullmer, Tamm Barton and Annette Handley. Bags of potato chips donated by Frito-Lay were won by Sheldon Jackson, Jason Henrie, Erna Riggs, Ilene Julander, Lori Talbot, and Marie Chynoweth. Cleo Fletcher won a toy bear from Sears; Michelle Perkins won a set of dishes from S&C; David Julander won a $5 gift certificate from Panguitch Drug; Dorothy Burningham, 11. The youngster held the winning ticket for the grand prize, final giveaway in the Chamber Christmas "Shop at Home" campaign. Foy won a checkbook cover from Zions First National Bank; Lana Foy a men's watch donated by the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce; and Craig Twitchell won a one year subscription to the Garfield County News. Michelle Perkins, Mac Hatch, Corie Hatch, and Dale Ipson each won a six pack of Coca Cola donated by Richfield Coca Cola Bottling Co.; Justin Hatch, Audrey Dice, Dale Ipson, and Gloyd Owens each v. on six packs of Pepsi from the Pepsi Cola Bottling Group, St. George. Winning candy from the Welcome Mart were Bo Davis and Mary Perkins. Panguitch merchants and the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce agreed that their 1980 Christmas season "Shop at Home" campaign had been a successful endeavor. The Chamber expressed special appreciation to local merchants who had donated so generously to make the project so successful. |
