Show Local Talent Show Spotlights Talent Two hundred people applauded local talent last Thursday night when the Bryce Valley Parent Teacher Association sponsored its first talent show. Alton Pollock, Tropic, was the MC for the two hour collection of talent which featured a variety of skills. Singing dominated the program with all ages participating. Tracy Littlefield and Kimberly Arnold sang "You Light Up My Life," Pat Lutes sang "Over the Rainbow", Marilyn Ott and Tami Feltner sang "The Rose" and "Let Me Be There," Trish, Terra and Curtis Chynoweth sang "There's No Such Thing as a Dragon," and Scott Moss sang "She's Out of My Life." Also singing were RaeleneNeal with "When Someone Cares", Nellie Thompson with "My Wild Irish Rose" and LuJean Sudweeks with "A Family is Forever." Song and dance routines were performed by Mary Johnson and Dori Baugh with "Tea for Two", and Sherrie and Shauna Mecham with "I am Learning to Spell". Dances were performed by Fran Dunham, Janet Moss, Joyce Ott, and Angle West to "Celebration", by Klera, Howie, Lance, David, Mindi, and Janet Nielsen to "Side by Side", by Amber Brinkerhoff, Sheila Syrett and Cherrie Syrett to "A Western Barbecue", by Barbie Fullmer and Sheila Syrett to "Get Up and Boogie" and by Jennifer Chynoweth and Shantel Rich to "Sandpaper Ballet". A gymnastic dance was performed by Sheila LeFevre and Kiera Nielsen to "Crazy Bone Rag." Instrumental musical performances were also included, a trumpet solo, "I Love You Truly" by Shawn Chynoweth; a clarinet duet, "Crossing Parts," by Joyce Ott and Kimberly Arnold; a flute solo, "When the Saints Go Marching In," by Audrey Davis; a piano duet, "Beethoven's Fifth Symphony", by Cheri Feltner and Gwen Brinkerhoff; a piano solo, "Mexican Hat Dance" by Connie Barton and another piano solo, "Ragtime Piano", by Julie Benton. A baton performance to "Hawaii Five-O" by Carl Baugh and a vocal duet by Joy and Tod Stubbs, "We Make A Beautiful Pair" completed the program. Accompanists were Francine Fullmer, Lael Chynoweth, Gwen Brinkerhoff, Marilyn Ott, Barry Erickson, Taml Tehues, and George Thompson. Stage helpers were Tracy Feltner, McLain Mecham, Bryce Syrett, Trent Feltner, Lynn Shakespear and Fred Gutierrez. The sound system was provided by Todd Stubbs and Linda Eddy with Jan Nielsen, Gloria Chynoweth, Maureen Mangum, Judy Chynoweth, and Jeanne Chynoweth planning and coordinating the activities for the evening. Herb Gaugh set up the gym for the capacity crowd and donated refreshments topped off the evening's festivities. |
