Show Legal Assistance For Elderly Readied Soon Professional legal help for senior citizens (55 years of age and over) who are financially unable to hire private practitioners will soon be available. The committee for the Legal Proteciton of the Elderly, a Utah group lcoated in Salt Lake City, has selected a local chairman, Marlen Mc-Williams, to head its local committee. McWilliams stated that the services of the organization will be made available to senior citizens in Garfield County through the generous assistance of Gov. Scott Matheson's office. The help is primarily, though not exclusively, geared to representing an elderly claimant before a regulatory tribunal, such as a matter before the Social Security Administration, medicare, food stamps, or other agency. To the qualifying elderly, the services will be without charge. Garfield County senior citizens should contact McWilliams at 676-2638 or local committee secretary Edna Clarke at 676-8295. ' |
