Show New Insurance Agent 'Back Home' Again Bruce Heywood feels like he's finally come home as he assumes the reins of the Central Utah Insurance Agency on Main Street in Panguitch. His father, Kay Heywood, is retiring after 16 years of service to the Garfield County area. Panguitch's newest insurance man was, born in Cedar City where he lived for four years before moving to Richfield for eight years. The senior Heywood moved his family to Panguitch where young Bruce attended junior and senior high school before leaving on an LDS mission to the eastern states. He later graduated from Southern Utah State College with a degree in Industrial Technology. Heywood spent several years as a lieutenant in the Navy. He was a naval aviator licensed to pilot helicopters and multi-engine transports. While in the Navy he served on the USS Coral Sea, as assistant operations officer with the Iceland Defense Force at Kefiavic, Iceland, and at the Naval Air Station at Fallon, Nev. Heywood was trained for his new' career in insurance by the Independent Insurance Agents of Utah, graduating third in his class, as a Central Utah insurance agent, Heywood works with six major companies and their subsidiaries and has contacts with Lloyds of London. His company handles a full line of property and casualty insurance. Heywood brings with him to Panguitch his wife, Rita, two daughters, Heather, 9, and Heidi, 7, and two sons, Timothy, 4, and Robert, 15 months.
