Betty Alvey was at the E. L. Hansens in Layton to see how the medication was affecting her. She went back to the hospital and will be tested three weeks. The Dave Marshals have a baby girl delivered at home. Phyllis Alvey went to New Mexico and got daughter Loraine Sanders and brought her here. They went to Prescott, Ariz, to visit Dee and Elda Haws. Louis and Wilma Christensen have moved a trailer house on their property and are living here. The Max Porters are building a house near the Que Porters. Scott and Julie Appleby, Wisconsin, joined Kay Lynn Shurtz and bride in going through the temple. They visited the Hal Shurtzes and attended the wedding reception of the Shurtz couple. The open house for the Tom Ruckers was nice. The Leo Wilsons had a phone call from son Robert in Montana telling them he is a branch president. Their son Glenn is home from school to help his father this summer. Bill and Clorine Vidrine had business in Salt Lake City. Dena Alvey accompanied them to visit family members. The neighbors of Erma Gates gave her a surprise birthday party, served supper and gave her gifts including a pink bonnet. Jane Woolsey had Roe and Clema Barney visit from Page. The Starns Mechams and the Lane Listons went to Moroni for the wedding of Robert Crosland. The Lloyd Bacons moved to California where he has em-' ployment. i Bill and Beverly Kuhns received word from the 1 Maritime school in Maryland where their son Jim is completing the second phase of study for his engineer's license, l that he finished with : almost perfect scores of 100 and 94 in the tests. ! John and Arlene Elmer 1 went to Salt Lake City to 1 see him off to return to i Greece where he is ' stationed in the service. Fred Barney from i Mountain View, Calif, i visited Lillie Spencer. ' Joyce Kelly Kanab, i took Tammy Spencer back for a week. She came home in time to see her brother Marion who came from Wyoming on vacation. Jeff Thompson brought the Ira Rustons home. The Starns Mechams got word that son Ron had been to a convention in Seattle and was voted the top salesman of the Western States. Rob Goulding was here finishing up school business. Imogene Lambert and Afton Church were here seeing about the senior citizens. Frank Vinuti took his special students to Cedar City for activities. Erma Gates caught the bus for Las Vegas where she joined daughter Montel Jordan to go to Florida. The Special Interest group went to the town park for supper with Marie Hall and Nellie Bailey as hostesses. Most of them went to Lillie Spencers for a visit. The Lorenzo Griffins had son Lewis here from Provo. A job well done is commendable a slacker is a curse. Sometimes a job that's overdone is definitely worse. |
