Show Tropic Topics Clem Johnson was released as ward clerk and Richard Scott was sustained in his place. The Johnsons are moving soon to Provo. We will miss them in our community. The memberships for Richard and Jody Heaps were read and accepted in the ward. Speakers in Sacrement meeting were Marlon Pollock, representing the youth, Christy Shakespear, Betty Lou Hepworth, Ed and Camllle Shakespear representing the E.R. Shakespear family. Crystal Mangum also played a piano sole. The E.R. Shakespears also had their daughter Arvon and son Chad home for the. meeting. The Afton Pollocks mad a trip to Eureka over to take their daughter Peggy home. The Carl Syretts were in Payson visiting friends. Kathy Davis visited her parents, and brother Kim. Phyllis Stewart enjoyed a weekend visit from her sister Nancy and new husband. The Alton Shakespears had daughter Jeanette and husband, and daughter Mary Jo Barton and family spend the weekend with them. The Bryce Lions and partners will hold their annual mutton fry at Kodachrome State Park tonight at 7. All Lions and partners are invited to attend. The Escalante Utah stake Relief Socity will hold its past regional meeting in Escalante Saturday at 1. All Relief Society workers in the stake are asked to attend. Visiting the Arnold Adairs this past week were Rondal Robertson, a cousin of Arnold's from California, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert . Porter, from Salt Lake City. We are happy to learn that Agnes Littlefield is home from the hospital; convalescing at the home of her sister Rose Olson. Violet Littlefield is also home and convalescing from a recent illness and stay in the hospital. Ora Brinkerhoff and Amplus LeFevre visited with the Weldon LeFevres and Ellis Littlefields in Us Vegas, and Henderson, Nev. Irene and Verlan Munson and the Arnold Adiars were in Cedar City. The Relisf Society held its annual opening social Tuesday fternoon, featuring a fashion show of "Something Old and Something New", under the direction of Stacey Pollock and Anita Heaton. Vertis Clarke and daughter Karen Willis made a trip to Salt Lake City and Provo. Ivan accompanied them and got settled in his new living quarters, and registered for school at the trade and technical college. Carla and Martin Ramsay, Kim Ott and Lynette Sudweeks are among local students attending college. Tod Nieman received rerious injuries on a motor bike accident, and spent a few days in the hospital this week. Ruth Baugh had her mother and father, and uncle Elwin and Aunt Clara Robinson visit with her. Joann and Ron Otteson visited with the Charley Wlntch family, Alaska and Floyd Richards were home. Greg and Paula Richards have moved home. We are happy to have them back in the community. The Tropic Town Board and partners had a cookout at Kodachrome State Park. Richie Barton and Quint Mecham participated in the high school rodeo in Cedar City. Rlchel managed to win a place, but Quint couldn't stay with his animal. Judy Adair and two friends from Cedar City visited with the Arnold Adairs. While in Tropic they filled their boxes with produce to take back home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mecham took their daughterDebbie and their granddaughter, back to Henderson, Nev. where they visited. The senior citizens had a dinner Thursday evening in the Scout House. The group bid adieu to the Ariel Fletchers who will leave in a short time for an LDS mission. Attending the wedding Saturday night for pat and Wade were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Baugh, Mr. and Mrs. Lavel Baugh, Mr. and Mrs. Layne Chynoweth, Varis Sim-pkins, Lola Gibson and Joy Ballard. The groom also had parents, grand mother and several family members present for the reception and wedding. The Owen Shakespears enjoyed a visit from their daughter Myrna and husband. Eva Dean Francisco was in St. George to see about her injured knee. Margaret Mecham took the Owen Shakespears to Cedar City on business. |
